Game #8 10/26/14: Los Angeles Kings 5, Columbus Blue Jackets 2--6-0 Homestand!

^ Dat face!

Gotta love how the Kings are missing key players while not playing up to their potential, but are still winning games. Quick is on another level right now. Great to get a lot of points right out of the gate.

This. No matter what people say about points not counting as much in October as they do in March, you don't get into points mattering in March unless you miss out on them in October. At the end of the season all those points are equal and that's all that matters.

Absolutly, and how many times have teams 'gotten off to a slow start' and have to struggle in the second half to try to catch up??? I guess the best thing it to be balanced, win games at a reg. pace and win the division games.

Bank your points now for the inevitable lows of a long season.

Given the long playoff runs of the last 3 years, banking points is really important for the last quarter of the year so we can rest our stars (i.e., cut back on ice time).

No doubt Sutter will concede home ice if it means our top guys are rested and healthy for the playoffs (unlike a certain coach 40 miles away)...

Don't you know? +/- is so yesterday...

It's all about Corsi and Fenwick and Fibonacci and Figurate and Catalan and...

Those aren't much better though... His first two years in Lumbus he was close to the bottom in all the advanced stats and everyone on his team was better playing away from him. He's just a pure liability on the ice.

IDK, battling for playoffs worked out pretty well last couple of times ;)
