Agree completely. Love when players prove people wrong. People on here wrote off Calvert after his terrible 2011-12 season, comes in and makes the team the next year and is vital to the team. People wrote of Savard this year after his play last year. Now look. Love it

1)Got to give credit to Howson on Calvert. Not sure if you remember but I think a couple of seasons ago, he had a great training camp but got hurt. When he was healthy there was no room for him so he started in the AHL. He ended up being called up and sent down a couple of times. Finally Howson had enough and told Calvert they would no longer call him up because they felt it was pointless to have him up and be stuck on the 4th line with a couple of minutes a game. Had him play out the rest of the season in the AHL with lots of minutes. Following year, had another solid training camp and made the team.

2)I remember when people said Savard's skating was to poor for the NHL. At on point, Savard was pissed because he was in the AHL and felt he deserved to be in the NHL. I wonder if the thought of being back in the AHL is making him play hard every game.

I like the "C-B-J" chant as well.

But it should only be for important/big games(like tonight) and/or playoffs.

Well, it will take a meeting with 15,000 fans to set up the rules.. I think it might be heard more often, perhaps after every goal.... we will see.

Weak... even more than weak. That chant and the after goal song feel like they take away excitement. I know some disagree, but I strongly feel both should go. No song after a goal, just loud horn, cannon, cheers & chants.

The CBJ chant is nice to hear

The song is baaaad. If there's going to be a song after the boom one could do much better. Something punk or metal, no vocals.

I swear to god this is the only fan base that analyses every thing that happens with the crowd in the arena. Are we really analyzing a CBJ chant? I thought the chant was badass and nothing like the beta lets go jackets chant.

Calvert was also asked to sign and play pro when still in the OHL, he refused preferring to play for the Memorial Cup in his home town....

WOW! Just got finished watching on delay. SOJ with a much different ending. Clutching a possible defeat from the jaws of victory with 21 seconds to go only to have Joey laser one in for the win in OT. Kind of a rag tag collection there tonight but great effort and a well deserved result.

Calvert is all heart. Would have liked to see Prout get a bit physical with the Yotes. When its Tropp & Calvert as your tough guys yikes. Anyway great win and now 2 more pts gets us in.

I might get roasted for this but this team is way better when Letestu consistently gets 15-16 minutes of ice time. Coach Richards has to use his that way, not the 10-12 or 18-20.

I agree. Letestu was pretty bad the first half of the season, but he found his game around new year and so did the team...not entirely coincidental. This was the guy that led the team in goals last season remember. The 4th line has been more than a spark plug, and they deserve 15 minutes a night.

Listen to Wiz tell the interviewer(Porty?) exactly how many points they need. Rolling off the numbers. Love it.

That was hilarious. But wiz is a little wrong by my math.

Jersey could win 3 in a ROW and overtake the CBJ if they only get one more point.

That would take a miracle of events to unfold. Which is good.

I would really like to catch Philly. Boston is just so strong. And I don't want to deal with the Columbus Blue Penguins fans if we play Pittsburgh.

Yep.... I think wiz thinks we have 37 ROW... (we do have more goals vs the Devils which is the next tie breaker after ROW) but again, the odds of the CBJ getting only 1 point and the Devils 6 are almost zero.. it could happen but not likely.

We need two more points....

Good game tonight guys, just popping in to say good luck on getting into and doing well in the playoffs. I've always had a soft spot for you guys, and given how the Flames have been the last few years, it really makes me feel good to see an underdog and a team who was bottom feeding for a long time do well. I hope I get to see your franchises first playoff win.

ultimately I want Iginla to get his cup, but besides that, going to jump on your bandwagon a little haha

Was there any update on Horton? Is he out for a couple of games again or is he ready to go tomorrow?

He has to be done for next 3 games. I think it'll be big surprise if he's back for playoffs.

Yeah. That scenario. Or also, Caps can still get to 91 points with 3 more victories, but we'd win tie-breaker.

What a game! Playoff level emotions. Loved everything about the fan chants and cheers. It was fantastic. These guys can drive you to drink., They fold with 15 seconds left, but do not quit. Instead, they come back and pull it out. An amazing group of athletes and an amazing group of individuals who are collectively a team.
