I know you're joking, but I wouldn't have had a problem with that line if they had not been out there for a back breaker. They can't not score and then **** the bed protecting the lead at the same time. Not acceptable IMO.

At this point I'd like to break up the top line to try to get guys going.

+- is BS, blah blah, I know. But the top line was a combined -8. An argument could be made that not only did they not win the game...they were the sole reason they lost. If they don't wake the **** up, they're not making the playoffs. Plain and simple.

Rants deserves a demotion, if anything. Even considering his goal against the Hawks he's been as close to a non-factor as you can get

I don't know if they can afford to gamble and break up the lines, but if they get down in a game I'd like to see these lines.

Jost - MacK - Mikko
Landy - Soda - Compher
Ghetto - Kerfoot - Comeau
Nieto - Toninato - Bourque

Oh, and Warsofsky should be getting like 5 minutes a game if he's gonna play. He's a completely liability defensively every time he's on the ice. I'm wincing through most of his shifts.

I'll say this... Every time Bednar has broken up that line for a short period of time, and eventually put them back together it has woken them up. It's interesting that he hasn't tried it down the stretch here.

This year alone there has been at least twice, if not three times, he's broken them up in games. He usually starts the next with them intact but it sends a message at least. He hasn't sent that same message here lately.

Lastly, there's a simple solution to OT: don't do risky ****. There's no reason for Rantanen to fire a shot-pass towards Landeskog without him being 100% certain Landeskog is going to get contact, or he's going to get it on net. They've been burned enough times to know this but they keep doing it.

As soon as you get into a track meet in OT, you're in trouble.

I think it comes down to coaching, I get the feeling practicing OT has pretty much been ignored since the only adjustments we see are the players. The Avs don't play a style that's conducive to puck posession, but 3 on 3 you can't be a run and gun team, you're just going to get burned. Bednar should've had them practice it knowing games were going to be decided in OT down the stretch.

And i'm Jared Bednar.
We're Team Avalanche., gathered
from all across the world

- And we're gonna stick together. You know why?
- Because we are the Avalanche
- And Avalanche fly together.
- That's right

- And just when you think they're about
to break apart- - Avalanche fly together!
- And when the wind blows hard and
the sky is black- - Avalanche fly together!
When the roosters are crowing and the
cows are spinning circles in the pasture-
- Avalanche fly together!
And when everyone says it can't be done
-Avalanche fly together.

It’s not a hard concept.

They don’t need help from the wild or coyotes or predators or anybody.

Win and in. I got nothing for you if you don’t get basic math.

If the Avs win the rest of their remaining games there is a chance that it won't get them in to the playoffs. They have to win all the games in regulation to get in to the playoffs.

I have been away travelling.

This is my theory:

The Avs will reach the playoff because the first line will deliver in the final games.

It's impressive how they turned it around this season and not to forget the impressive ways dealing with injuries on key players this season, props to Bednar.

Bednar will be coaching the team next season too and Nemeth will get a raise.

If Avs win out beating the Kings tomorrow in regulation and winning the other 2 games including the Blues in any fashion they'll mathematically be in the playoffs with 99 points ahead of both Kings and the Blues. Correct me if I'm wrong. I mean they only have to beat the Kings in regulation, they can win the other 2 games in any fashion

Well, it's simple; playoff teams don't blow 3-1 third period leads in crucial regular season games like this.

Do you know what playoff teams do? They rally back from being down by 2 heading into the third and win it in OT.

As much as people don't want to hear this, the past week or so has proven to us that this team just isn't ready to make the next step.

Maybe next year if they address the secondary scoring issue and add some more blueline depth to prevent the train wreck that is Dwarfsofty and his ilk from ever seeing NHL ice, they squeak in.

They need to find a way to win important games and I'm not convinced that Jared can ever be the coach for that.

At least we aren't the laughing stock of the league anymore, I'm happy with that.
