Lastly, there's a simple solution to OT: don't do risky ****. There's no reason for Rantanen to fire a shot-pass towards Landeskog without him being 100% certain Landeskog is going to get contact, or he's going to get it on net. They've been burned enough times to know this but they keep doing it.

As soon as you get into a track meet in OT, you're in trouble.

They can turn this thing around tomorrow against a team they haven't played well, on the second of a back to back. Sure I'll change my tune if they win tomorrow in regulation, but that isn't the smartest Vegas bet out there.

This x10000000.

Man, yet another game late in the season where they leave points on the table, and yet another game of timely mistakes costs them.

Right on the heels of an outstanding game from Tyson Barrie at both ends of the ice, and he plays a big role in giving up two goals tonight. Landy makes a bad back pass and turns it over inside the blueline. Then Barrie makes a bizarre pinch on the far side, after Zadorov has already pinched, and the Avs don’t even have the puck. Leads to a clean breakaway to tie the game 1-1.

No big deal, because Tyson Jost scores a couple huge goals and they’re up 3-1 going into the 3rd.

A little over halfway through the 3rd, Soda loses yet another D zone draw clean, gets caught sleeping, and leaves his man wide open for an easy tap in to an empty net. Now it’s 3-2.

Ok, we can get through this. Just play smart hockey, win your one on one battles, don’t give up any unnecessary chances, and we leave with two points, and the Ducks get none.

Then a couple minutes later, Barrie stops skating to swipe at a puck in the air just inside his own blue line. He misses, then gets beat wide, and gives up a clean shot from a weird angle on Bernier that would have been an easy block. It pops out front directly to Kesler and boom, they tie the game 3-3, then lose in OT.

Now they get one point instead of two, and they give the Ducks two points instead of none. So frustrating., but no time to dwell on it with a massive back to back now tomorrow night.

Hope I’m wrong, but that LA game is gonna be a tough one to pull out. They're gonna be beat up after this one, and LA is just gonna come out and play the same way Anaheim did. Gonna be a huge 1st period. They got to find a way to get the first goal. Hopefully they find some bounces, because they might need em.

This was total BS, and it is totally reasonable for people to be pissed off.

3-1 going into the third, and you start the third on a PP, and you end up messing it up and completely implode in a huge game, and you have to play an even harder team that has whipped your ass this season tomorrow... I'm sorry, but even the most positive person has to be a little shaken.

If you can't see how troubling things are looking right now, then I've got nothing for you.

It’s not a hard concept.

They don’t need help from the wild or coyotes or predators or anybody.

Win and in. I got nothing for you if you don’t get basic math.

I think we all get it, but it's the probability of winning the next 3 that people are having a problem with.

Obviously it's not a hard concept. Just like winning tonight sounded mighty easy to you too, didn't it? Not exactly simple stuff.

So when we lose tomorrow and it becomes impossible for us to hit 98 points will people actually see the light? This team IS NOT ready.

I appreciate your pessimism but why don't you wait till the end of the season. This team is still our team win or lose. I'd rather root for wins then losses.

There’s no question this team isn’t ready.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows that. You can’t go from being the worst team in the cap era to a team ready to make noise in the playoffs all in one season.

We’re fighting to just scrape into the playoffs.

But ready or not, winning these games is possible. A 7 game series...no, that won’t happen.

But 3 games against different opponents. Just a litttle luck can have you win 2 of them.

H to the no. Bednar is here to stay. Give the guy a chance would ya'll. He took this team from crap last here to this year's success.
The guy who seems to like to turtle in the 3rd with a lead and can't generate offense unless MacKinnon goes all world? Yeah, no way we could upgrade on that.

I hope we can squeak out a win tomorrow but with me in attendance it's not looking good. I'm like 2-11-3 or something to that effect.

It was Kesler's fault. He cross checked him in the back after the whistle and took out his own goalie. Just a selfish, dumb play to make.

Kesler gave a stupid cross-check which made Landeskog crash into Gibson. I mean they still think we're a dirty team and hate Landeskog, but I don't think they're saying it was 100% his fault.

That team doesn't have a right to be mad at anyone, or think anyone is a dirty team. They take a ridiculous amount of cheap shots, especially Perry, Kesler, Getzlaf, and Lindholm. They didn't even focus on playing hockey until the 3rd it seemed.

Since his hot streak ended MacKinnon hasn't even been at a 50 pt pace. I think it's time we accept facts and move him to RW.

Come on now. We need MacK at center. Who else do we have coming up that we can reasonably expect to take his spot? JT and Drai (from the trade for Trade Value) don't count :sarcasm:. Let's be honest, with the way the Avs take draws, MacK and Landy are pseudo center/winger anyways.

Edit: Trade Value for Drai.... :naughty:

I know you're joking, but I wouldn't have had a problem with that line if they had not been out there for a back breaker. They can't not score and then shit the bed protecting the lead at the same time. Not acceptable IMO.
