I really don't see how this team beats LA tomorrow and I don't see how the Blues loose to Chicago. We needed the 2 points tonight. Now we'll probably miss by 1 point and it'll hurt even worse. Mack forcing the play, Rants constantly falling, Landeskog's wild passes and Barrie regressing to a shin pads seeking, weak board play, bad decision making idiot. Has cost us our season. Hopefully next year we make the leap.

This year hurts really, really bad though.

You shouldnt be hurt especially if you consider that we shouldnt even be in the position we are currently after last season. Missing the playoffs would suck because we are so close but I dont feel hurt. These guys playing important games this late is kinda like a pseudo playoffs for me especially when my expectations for them this season was very low.

Terrible ending but the season is not over. Don’t love that the Caps clinched the Metro tonight though. They could come out with less urgency tomorrow.
Expect their top players not to get a lot of ice time and trying not to get hurt. Even easier game for the Blues than the Hawks.

I think tomorrow will be telling for the Blues. To see how they come out against the Caps after getting absolutely destroyed by the Coyotes.

Not necessarily win or lose since the Caps are a really good team, but whether they come out flying and look good or if they come out flat and look defeated.

It mainly hurts because of how well we were playing just a few weeks a go. Now all of our stars are just buckling under the pressure. I know they're young, but watching that potential just dry up right before the promised land sucks.

The Blues will win. I dont doubt that. If we can get a point tmmrw I will consider that a win.

I see a lot of people saying things like "relax, look how far we've come since last year". I'm aware of that, but life is all relative. I'm not just going to roll over and be okay with almost making the playoffs because they were awful last year. The Avs are right there, in a playoff spot currently. I know they had a bad period over the last few years but right now we're on the cusp of playoff hockey and nothing in the past matters to me. I want to see playoff hockey and I'm incredibly let down that they just had a 2 goal lead with 10 minutes left and ended up losing the game. I don't think that makes me a bad fan.

MacKinnon hasn't been at his best lately but he's the reason the Avs are in this position to begin with. I won't put it on him if he can't finish the job and drag this team to the playoffs.

I'm sorry, but their done. Just accept it..

Every other team they've been in the mix with down the stretch here has been able to close, or come back late, and they just were the victim of that experience. They're not doing shit down the stretch with the top line looking like they're the top 3 cast of Cirque du Soleil. I'll pay the price of admission because of what they've done thus far, but I'm not expecting anything other than a clown show.

Exactly, they lost to ARI, major wake up call, they'll come out guns blazing tomorrow vs WSH, who clinched the division tonight and will probably be hung over tomorrow. Then 2 vs CHI. I'm not holding my breath they falter
I fully expect them to win all 3. Holtby has be awful lately, and Chicago is just bad.

But if we are all honest here did we really think we would be in this spot after last season? I for sure didn't

I understand the glass half full mentality, but they didn't get to this position on accident. They've had a great season and it's reasonable to have expectations skewed accordingly

Point system needs to change to the IIHF way. Ducks have made it to OT in 22 games this season... that's like once a week.
Cant just change the point system because it doesnt favor you in this one instance...

All that says is Ducks know how to turn it on late which is what we saw tonight

It doesn't make any of us bad fans that we're disappointed.

I'm incredibly disappointed in this team right now. No EJ, no Varly, doesn't matter. You have a 3-1 lead heading into the 3rd period in the most important game of the year, on the road no less, and you sit back and **** your pants because the big, bad Ducks are coming hard?

What's so disheartening to me is that the kids looked the best/most composed all 3rd. Girard, Jost, Kerfoot, Compher. They looked like they were calm all 3rd. It was our key guys that looked horrid.

I don't expect a win at all tomorrow night.

Trailing in the 3rd vs both LA and the AVS and win it in OT twice. If anything they deserve to be there more than we do.

You guys realize that for us to get in now, it's going to require another team to collapse right? Guess what? We don't have Colorado or Minnesota out there to do that for us as we back into the playoffs losing game after game.

We do actually need the draft pick, either as currency or as a smart pick. So accept that this team is where it is.. If this team is a playoff team they close out Anaheim this game with authority. They didn't do that, and they deserve their fate.

All of the shit talking and blah blah, the Avs did have their own fate in their hands, and they're watching their playoffs lives circle the drain like the shiny turd they just laid at Anaheim's door step.

2 points in his last two games, with the Avs picking up 3/4 points. As fans, we were spoiled by the level he was playing at for almost a whole season.

It’s very frustrating the Avs blew this game, but it’s done with now. Still very much in control of their own fate. Just a smaller margin for error now.
