GDT: Game 78 : Kraken @ Kings; 10:30PM

Gru has actually been halfway decent since being called back up.
And even if he isn't you still start him more and not keep on winnng and being "competitive" after wasting the season away and playing for nothing but to screw up your own draft position.
I’m not worried about draft position of players that may not reach the NHL level until 3 or 4 years down the road. That’s just me though, YMMV.

Team doesn't want to get a reputation as the place where you get hate-yeeted onto waivers and subsequently the end of the bench if you fall out of favor. You're actively unattractive to UFA's if you're "that team". Throwing Grubauer a bone now and then (and hopefully losing) at least maintains the image that they're a "player friendly" org.

Disagree. If you want more playing time you earn it via good performance. There is nothing more hockey than that IMHO.

There are not many home games left but I won’t pay my hard earned money to watch #31 watch pucks go by him.

Does that hurt the Kraken financially? Absolutely not. Just my little protest for carrying the statistically worst goalie in the NHL and potentially playing him.

He’s a great guy personally, just a horrible goalie at this time.

You'll get to watch a damn lot more of the next #31 hoover pucks into his own net once Joey is burned to a wreck.

You can disagree all you want. It doesn’t change the fact that these are “professionals” with egos. “Earn your playing time” is something you tell little kids. These guys are way past all that.

So some FA isn’t going to come here next year because the worst goalie in the league rode the pine the last few games??? That’s silly.

Some FA may not come here because they don’t want to get shit on at the tail end of their deal like you’re advocating the team shit on Grubauer, absolutely. I’m stunned that this is a novel concept to you? I guarantee Grubauer himself thinks this a temporary slump and that he still “has it”. It’s so common it’s a cliche that these professionals and their egos don’t know when to hang them up.

Grubauer’s agent, Allain Roy, has 72 other NHL clients of varying shapes and flavors. You don’t think word will get around if the Kraken take a steaming dump on Grubauer, like you suggest?

No team was more accused of dumping vets than the Knights were (stabbing them in the back even), and yet they remained the #1 destination for free agents. Players want to win more than anything, they don't want to join a club that puts sentiment above winning. Grubauer should have been waived a long time ago, it would have better signaled our commitment to winning.
