Just want to point out that the irreplaceable Morgan Barron has 2 points (both in the same game and he didn’t drive the play for his goal) in 8 games and is a -5. People were apoplectic that he was included in the trade.

I think most of us on here were ok with the trade. I think it was fair. It is still possible Copp is only gonna be a rental. Now the Vatrano deal was a steal ;)

If I am the Rangers, I would shop there again. Good bargains. They have a plethora of talent, and am sure they KNEW what they traded away, but to their credit also knew he deserved a chance at more PT and afforded him his freedom and a new opportunity. You can tell he's a really good kid and worthy.

I was totally fine with the trade and don't have high hopes for Barron, but it's kinda ridiculous to thump your chest based on Barron's performance in 8 games this season.

I don't recall this being the case. Mild disappointment whilst being glad it wasn't a more high-profile prospect is what I remember being the prevailing feeling.

I think when Winnipeg comes to the Garden, someone should call a Copp. I'd be nice if he puts away his old team.

I agree here. He was given plenty of chances to make a statement and never really did. Talented kid, but was never going to really crack our lineup.

He didn’t get a big opportunity the way Gauthier or Hajek or Howden did, but I tend to think that perhaps he doesn’t think the game at the NHL level which was always a concern about him.

Some posters overrated him big time, I never understood why. He never showed much of anything during his limited time in the NHL.
