They played pretty poorly vs Arizona. Defense was getting globetrottered by their top line. Despite giving up 5 goals Quick saved their asses a bunch.

They were lucky Arizona had AHL level defenders and a crappy goalie, and Laf went super saiyan.

Yup, but it's kinda understandable them not taking Arizona seriously though and Arizona had been playing well and scoring lots of goals, plus has a winning record at home. I called it before the game. They scored 8 so who cares anyway. Not every game is going to be pretty which I have said only a million times. Look at who Colorado and Florida lost to recently.

It sucks to see Jones sit as he played really really well. Kinda knew this was going to happen when D got healthy. D does have depth with Jones and Ruhwedel as 7th and 8th type guys.

Jones coming out sucks but I kind of get it.

Miller has warts but he's not coming out of an NHL lineup. On that same token, I'm somebody who thinks Lindgren should play less, not somebody who thinks he can't be in an NHL lineup. Gustafsson is probably a little bit better.

Even if we want to shift Jones or somebody else to their off-wing, there's no reason for Schneider to come out. Trouba, I would absolutely replace with Jones but it's not realistic.

The defense is kind of set, and in 5 out of 6 spots, we're employing NHL talent. The weak link is Trouba and it is what it is. I'm not expecting Jones to play over Trouba when Fox doesn't play over Trouba.

He's gotta own it, and reap what he has sewn. And I say this as a guy who really doesn't hold much weight with the "hockey code". If it's not going well, go for the takedown and call it a day.

Yeah I think Rempe is in this game so the Rangers can retaliate more than as a deterrent. Im sure the coaching staff will be telling the boys not to admire their passes too much.

I also don't think the Devils are going to really do anything outside of some staged nonsense, similar to the game after the Panarin incident where there were like seven fights.

There's always the fear of going out and targeting guys, but it doesn't happen often. Most dirty hits are irresponsible plays in the heat of battle. Targeting carries a hefty penalty. A few games without pay plus something on your record is a deterrent for guys that don't typically last long. And you rarely see the stars doing it.

The only established guys that get away with it because they've already made millions are Marchand and Wilson.

A guy like Rempe has an NHL career at stake his next 50-100 games. I expect him to be quiet for awhile unless it's a fight.

Is fox playing in sheltered minutes now? I get wanting him to play more I guess but is that going to correlate to more wins? Its hard to win more than the Rangers have the past couple months. I don't think the Trouba situation is a coaching issue as much as its the player failing to live up to the expectations placed on him. He will be the sacrificial lamb in the summer if the playoffs go poorly. Lavi may love him but hes not a guy Drury bought into the organization and we've seen him take the coaches toys away a couple times already this year.

Honestly it shouldnt be Rempe's job to retaliate in such a scenario. Trouba should make himself useful for once and fight MacDermid instead. Its what an actual leader would do. Just ask Brendan Shanahan when he fought Brashear.

Yeah , true, and Florida has lost like 7 of their last 8 or something.

But the issues that showed in Arizona are something that should be addressed , and not just chalked up to “one of those nights” imo
