Inched closer to the playoffs and our sportsclubstats percentage went up, so :handclap:

I think a point's a good outcome vs. Avs based on how this team's built. Hard nosed, hitting guys only get you so far. They'll have to figure out a way to have some skill players other than RyJo fit on this team. We're now 1-12-4 vs. teams over 98 points and steering towards a matchup vs. Boston :( I'm fearing a round 1 playoff sweep again.

Maybe they can beat Philly again and come home and steal a point from Chicago to salvage the week. :)

Good thing the Caps are terrible, they're really embarrassing themselves.

Still, the games in hand mean nothing if we don't win. Hope to get 3 out of 4 vs Phi/Chi.

This, we take care of business at home and we have a spot locked up.

Richards shouldn't be so level headed after games like this and the stretch they just had at home. It makes it seem like the effort and results are okay to the players. Kirk Muller got fired up on his team and they came in and dominated us.

Press conferences are for fans and media, not 'to fire up players'. Who knows how he is behind closed doors. If he is level headed, maybe the team responds better to that. Most players don't react too well to yelling and screaming. You've seen too many movies.

Avs fan, here in peace. We didn't deserve that win, but we'll take it! ;D You guys had some extremely unlucky bounces. Good luck the rest of the season, I'd like to see Columbus in the playoffs.

Anisimov, maybe. Tropp? Are you drunk? Wiz????? He would shoot it very hard ten feet to the left of the net. Joey, Cam and Anisimov. That is it. No one else could intentionally put it in that 12 inch slot between the goalie and the post.

The Avs have come a long way in the last four years, I still remember you guys skating circles around us when we had Hitchcock and your team was rebuilding with youth...

You have a great MGT and head coach now... too bad you're in the West... ;)

I'm GLAD they're still in the West. Hope we get to play them again this year though!

I am not drunk I am buzzed. Tropp was maybe an overreach.

Wiz can make that shot for sure. If we're talking probabilities the conversation changes, but you said capable, and Wiz is absolutely capable. So is Foligno, and I wouldn't put it past Calvert, either. Or Skille.

One more thing, please figure out how to win at home again, we've seen nothing but losing hockey at Nationwide for 5 out of the past 6 outings. And we wonder why there attendance issues. Wake up.

I thought of that as well. I think I'm just still pissed of losing to the Pens again at home. Every other team in the division has beaten them sometimes multiple times this year. It sucks.

How about a win over the Blackhawks :help:

After this game I have joined the anti-Richards group. It is his job to prevent them from playing "prevent".

And by the way, Cam's goal is evidence of why you do not bench Cam. He and RyJo are the only two Jackets capable of making that shot.

And yes, Tropp made a big difference instead of RJ in this game. (gag me with a spoon).

Sorry to disrupt the conventional wisdom, but this wasn't prevent-defence. We had plenty of possession, definitely the better scoring chances in the third and we were aggressive on pucks (actually Calvert was too aggressive on the second goal).

Thanks.... and kudos for getting 102 points so far... I always wondered if your fan base would continue through lean days after the easy winning post Quebec.

It's a great organization and fan base now.... go get the cup!!!

Uhh, we're talking Wiz, not Jack Johnson.

He's got a freakishly good shot.

Avs fan here in peace. You guys looked good tonight, I hope you guys make it in and get matched up against Pittsburgh in the first round. I honestly think you could take them out.

Personally, I'm pretty scared of Boston though.

Avs fans relate to your pain when it comes to losses like tonight. Columbus also plays the game the right way and works hard every night, so they get our respect even in defeat.

Personally I believe if a team scores every single goal in the game and still manages to lose, they should be respected by everyone.

Bounces sometimes don't go your way. Most every bounce has gone the Avs way this season.

Thoughts from the morning after:

- The Hockey Gods hate us.
- The penalty on Anisimov was a penalty, but not based on the game circumstances. If you haven't called a pentaly for 62+ minutes, and let about a dozen holds in the third period go, you can't call that one.
- We were the better team for most of the night. Play like that the rest of the way and we'll be fine. The Av's are good, and didn't have many good chances all night.

That was no worse than what was being done to us the entire game. The exact same thing in fact. Why make that call in overtime when you've let it go the entire game?

I couldn't believe some of the no calls.

We gave up three own goals in a 15 minutes stretch. Think about that.

When was the last own goal prior to last night?

The hockey gods hate us and I don't know what we ever did to incur such a wrath.

I think it might be Letestu's gaffe vs the Rangers in November.
