I'm hoping that we can get ahead by a couple and remind Fast of his stunt from last game ....they cannot go out of their way to pay that back or we might find ourselves buried quickly . Late in the third and up a couple works for me . One good turn deserves another. I think that the slewfoot should be an automatic match penalty and a 1 game suspension as it is the dirtiest play in hockey and very under punished . It is something they should look at and it should be reviewable by the refs ......he could have been seriously hurt the last game .

puck support. support the puck. dont lose puck battles. they send 2 guys at the puck at all times...theyre fast and organized about it, but they send 2 guys. by my math that means you have numbers if you dont hand it to them and dont make the stupid pass across they middle they sit on. its ain't rocket science. if support ain't there for the easy play put it into a space that gives you a race for it. worst case they're in at least a 3/4 ice reset rather than never even exit your own zone and get igor shelled for another 30+ seconds.

old enough to remember brady skjei annihilating fast like 10 seconds into the canes demolition of the rangers in the 3 games of bubble hockey they played.

more annoyed with kotkaniemi kicking out lindgrens skates that led directly to their 3rd goal but a scalp is a scalp.

Aloooottt of that was on the forwards though. Misfired passes or passes that got sucked up in the NZ because they were playing right into the trap set by the Canes. Panarin was the main culprit, real off game for him.

Patience is key, can't force shit out of frustration and miss completely when there is an opening. I
Is it forwards or is it system? We play the same way, fly the zone, wait by the blue line, leave defenders on an island, stretch pass... Carolina swarms and forces a lot of mistakes as there's no immediate/safe outlet option

Yes, forwards can come back tighter and they can move up as a unit. Carolina was jumping in front of everything... we are predictable.

If Gallant can change the PP unit/strategy, ,maybe he can actually amend our breakout/transition to better adapt to teams like Carolina?

It also doesn't help Fox has looked like shit.

You of all people should've realized by now that this Ranger team doesn't take numbers or make anyone pay for cheapshots or dirty plays. It's just not in their DNA. You should try to get in Turk's ear about this over the summer.

Definitely the forwards, at least last game.

They were slicing through Carolina just fine through the first. Then the execution/decision making went to shit. The system didn't change and Carolina didn't do anything differently after the 1st.

You can't predesign specific breakouts/transitions according to the opponent. That would just drive everyone crazy. There are 31 opponents in the league. Fox can't wear the playbook on his wristband and look longingly at it like Mahomes. You create a system and you generally stick to it and make in-game adjustments. Maybe in a postseason series, yes, you can tailor something because you're going up against the same team for at least 4 games.

F****** MANAGE THE PUCK AND MINIMIZE RISKY PASS ATTEMPTS. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

Will be watching this one at the Brewery X Biergarten at the Honda Center.

@will1066 phone battery?

We don't know when you're in NYC and when you're in Anaheim, and it's annoying, but what you said last night about starting the GDT early in hindsight was a clue.

There's a few styles. It's not a playbook, it's adapting.

We've played Carolina before. We know how they play. We've beaten them. We should be prepared in playing the top teams of the league. The PP was befuddled until the last opportunity. There's no reason to be caught off guard. Our transition was floundering... forcing the same looks over and over again.

We should be much sharper tonight, given that we actually practiced... but who knows

Don’t think there are any line changes from last game. Was reported by Vince, lines should be the same.

Well, they're stubborn fools more than being caught off guard. Maybe they have inflated self-confidence after they went 2-0 and 13-0 goal differential on back to backs, thinking they can force their style on anyone.

Top 6 just needs to show up on the scoresheet.

I'm not looking forward to watching this boring ass team play against us again, but I am watching for the win against them tonight. One of Panarin or Kane goes off tonight,

Rod "the bod" was crying like a baby at every penalty last game. Even the obvious ones. Pathetic. I hope the zebras will be better today than last game.

Also I hope Rangers will skate more. One succesful deke and you got the upper hand on these man-man dweebs.
