He was released from the QMJHL team because of his injury and being an overager. This will allow him to play some games at the end of the year and probably set him up to go to the NCAA next year, which should give us more time before we have to sign him.

Haven't seen anything about him going the NCAA route, so I was assuming he would turn pro at the end of the year (likely ECHL).

Yeah, I haven't seen much. I didn't even know he was released until I saw that he signed with Chilliwack. If he could go the NCAA route, it'd be a win for everyone involved, I think.
