Same old clutch-and-Babcock we used to see from the Chicken-Wings. Interfere, grab sticks, get in lanes, instigate then turn-the-other-cheek, "who me?" holier-than-though hockey those Wings teams were famous for. Just boring hockey.

Except the guy wins..

I have a hunch that this is exactly everyone's problem on here. Imagine being the players playing through the entire game a certain way and then at the very end they decide something being done all game is no longer allowed. Just can't do that. Not with major playoff implications on the line.

It was a ticky-tack call. Both players were jousting. That's incidental contact, except since Moore was on a straight line to the net and the Leaf came from the side, you can even say the Leaf initiated the contact. Classic example of being penalized for being stronger than your opponent, with the additional fact that the opponent goes down easy.

You have it bang on. Moore definitely committed a penalty....however the refs were letting LOTS go in the 3rd period and seemingly had their whistles away. I even saw a few high sticks both ways not called. To call that penalty with two minutes left in an important game is pretty weak.

I don't know about that. His last few years with the Wings they were under performing. Not saying he's not a good coach, he is probably the best. Just saying I hate his style. His teams also seem to get much more leeway when it comes to grabbing sticks, holding, and interference calls compared to others. I used to think it was because all the Euros he played have a cleaner reputation (i.e the Datsyuk slew foot vs Marchand's in 2014). But now I see the Leafs getting the same breaks.

More Leafs fans in here than Habs fans after a win. Sad.

The real fans who visit the Garden are usually nice.

Miller is not McQuaid but you know even Savard goes flying in if he sees the hit.

I swear to God - after a lifetime of watching this team I don't whine about reffing very often as I expect them to be on the wrong side of it more often than not - but still this morning, I'm grumpy. That was just ... One thing for the Bruins not to get some well-deserved make-up calls in the third - completely another beast to call Moore for being stronger as they both rub shoulders and the Leaf falls. Whistling it down on a broken skate blade? Coincidental minors?

Most concerning - especially with them in the division - are two things.
Babcock's Wings got away with more interference than any team in the league and T.O. is following that path to a t.
Coupled with the press the dynamic young darlings receive and that the Leafs are actually competitive again, intentional or not ...

I think last night, and their previous game against Chicago, is going to become the new normal.
Just hope the players don't get as frustrated as they eventually did with Montreal and start putting the Leafs away early and often going forward.

Real question here is was anyone really surprised that Toronto got a PP when they did? We have had to deal with this with the Habs forever and believe me, I live in Toronto, and both organizations are cut from the same cloth.

So it is no surprise that call was made, and no surprise that Leaf fans defend it ....

Not hate, just truth.

Exactly right ,but how do his teams constantly get away with it is my question.

See my reply above. It used to be he stacked his teams with Swedes and Russians who have a cleaner, non-North America reputation. It seemed they got the benefit of the doubt because of that, or were allowed to clutch-and-grab because, well . . . Datsyuk and Zetteberg. But now this Leafs team is getting away with the same ****** play? Got me baffled.

Form the last few games I have watched the Leafs at home ,I would plan on them winning or getting at least a looser point .Hope they don't have a lot of home games left

That is the scary part...

Now the Bruins will have to deal with both Montreal and Toronto's nonsense......

What was really frustrating about the bogus call on Moore was that they allowed it all night until there was less then 3 minutes left in the game. That's where the frustration lies. And on top of that, it wasn't really a penalty you call - you let those go in games, especially if you're going to let go of calling the leafs for interfering on Bergy by pushing him onto Anderson, slashes to Pastrnak's wrist in the first above his waist, etc.

This guy knows what's up.

It's always a shame when the reffing is the prevailing story after a game. Having said that, it's also a shame when your goalie plays well and you only score one goal. Have to be better.

Cheers!

Three years of seeing this same scenario and hearing the same deal about prices. Last two years:

2014-2015 Season Bruins lose on March 15th to the Washington Capitals to begin a 6 game losing streak to cost them the season.

2015-2016 Season Bruins lose on March 15th to the Sharks to begin a 7 game losing streak to cost them the season.

2016-2017 Season Bruins lose on March 16th to the Edmonton Oilers to begin a two game losing streak going into a week of four games...

This team basically imploded the last two years right after the deadline two years in a row. The Bruins need to win tomorrow night to erase this narrative from the minds of Bruins fans that don't forget the last two seasons.

Tonight is a must-win. I'm going to keep posting this as a reminder of what they are in the middle of, and can quickly erase from the minds of fans.

I'm all over DeBrusk but he's just starting to really really get it - I'd wait on him

He sees the ice very well and is an excellent passer and good skater who goes to the right areas

My lineup next year

DeBrusk-Krejci-Pasta (that line would dominate) their hands and hockey IQ would be outer worldly

I didn't like the pick but I like what I've seen live of him in my mini pack

Sounds like a solid plan Dan! Really like what I'm hearing about his development.

I have posted in other teams forum`s but never as a way to get under the skin. I think I asked fans in St Louis their honest opinion of Shattenkirk as his name has been bounced around here quite a while.

I read many opponents boards because it`s often fun to do and what it really shows is that Bruin fans are the only one`s to overreact when things are going well or poorly

Really? I like reading other boards too, but I never post; just like seeing what fans are saying about their team, especially during games. It's just interesting.

Other boards will go ******* too when they feel they have been ****ed over; not just Bruins fans

I am pretty sure if you went through my entire history of posts, you would likely not find a single one complaining about officiating. I have always felt that over the course of a game things even out.

Not last night. I am very pissed off at the garbage officiating. I did not go through this entire thread, only the first few pages.

No one seemed mentioned the other blatant act of stupidity in the first 3 pages. Blowing the whistle when Matt Martin lost his blade and we had the puck in their zone!! How friggin dumb are these clowns? Even if he was hurt - they are not suppose to blow the whistle until they have possession!

I sure hope this team is capable of a victory tonight in spite of the trash that was thrown their way last night. The only positive is that Ottawa is securely in a playoff spot and don't need this game to help justify the 12 billion dollar TV contract Rogers has. The refs could actually let the teams decide this game on their own. Problem is Ottawa is a better team than Toronto.

I am not sure I can stand watching the game tonight. I came very close to throwing objects at my TV. My wife looked at me with that "your not going to throw that are you?" look on her face.

It's only a game...
It's only a game...
It's only a game...

Strong post, I freaking lost it last night too. Woke my poor wife up, not sure I can handle watching another game like that.

Id hate to be a fan of another Canadian hockey team besides the leafs if you live in Canada. Between the Toronto Sports Network and now watching hockey central it is sickening the leafs love fest on what should be national sports channels.
So far it's about Marner, Reilly.. Book winning draws... They should call this show leafs central because it's sure a @$@$ not about hockey

This is the only reason you need to protect McQuaid over Millar. Everything else is even. Give me McQuaid everytime.

This X's 100,000,000! I was waiting for the push back. The "OH CRAP" moment and it never came.:dunno:
McQuaid would've gone all Mad Max on that sucker but NO! It wasn't a pretty sight to say the least and set a tone that the Makebeliefs could have their way and they did (have their way).:shakehead

Are you talking about prices at the deadline to acquire players?

This year, I didn't hear much if any of that. The refrain this year was (which I am fine with) that they have a plan, which is to draft and develop, and they were not going to sell off top prospects for rentals. They added that they felt the team, as currently constructed, was good enough to get in the playoffs.

We will see if that's the case, but I am perfectly fine with the B's not sacrificing high end prospects for short term gain.

I really do complain about reffing a lot but that game was genuinely the worst and most biased, one sided, **** show I have personally ever witnessed at any level of hockey.

What an absolute farce.

Totally agree.

So that hit on Bergy ? any call from the NHL ? Had that been Brad he would have sat a few games.

I was SO pissed off last night.

- the hit on Bergeron: should at the very least had been a double minor and a 2 minute minor on Bergeron. There was enough just cause to have kicked that guy out out of the game.

- Blatant inference on KMiller in the offensive zone as the Bruins were in the offensive zone. KMiller was cleaned out and he didn't have the puck

- the horrendous stopping of play when Martin lost his skate blade. The play was on the other end, the Bruins had the puck, and Martin nor any other player was in any danger

- Matt Martin taking Chara off the ice with him when it was pretty clear by replay that it was Martin who initiated repeated contact and Chara put up his arms in defense

- the tacky interference call on Moore while letting go the Babcock designed interference all game long on behalf of the Leafs

Am I missing anything?

Just read on TSN where Cassidy was very upset about the officiating, good for him to talk to the media about it if you get fined so what, it may pay off down the road.

The Canadian sports networks are heavily Toronto based mainly because the Golden Horseshoe of Ontario has 30% of english viewers for the entire country. The same happens in the US where many call ESPN the Eastern States Programming Network because of Boston and New York.

Being a Maple Leafs fan has to be frustrating because they have not been to a Stanley Cup Final post expansion - FIFTY YEARS. The Leafs this year in a promo for their 100th Season make fun of that - watch TV going out window.

Bruins fans talk about bad ownership but nothing compares to Toronto.

The Maple Leafs are like the NBA New York Knicks. The Bruins waited 39 years for a Cup but at least they were close a few times. The Maple Leafs were last close in 1993 and were screwed by a referee missing a call - which he has admitted.
