I'm starting to be more comfortable thinking about Stanley in the lineup compared to Pionk. I would prefer neither if I could, and Stanley doesn't make me "comfortable" per se, but Pionk IMO has been really bad, and not just for a little bit.

Unfortunately, as well all know, it is four guys playing for two spots and Pionk is not one involved in any kind of competition.
Lots of concern about Stanley in over Samberg, and I think we would all prefer Samberg in for Stanley, but are people certain Samberg isn't nursing something and they are giving him a bit of load management down the stretch? He has been out a few times lately. Post TDL there are no roster limits, so there is no need to put a player on IR to bring in a replacement since they are running with a 25 man roster. And there is certainly no need to announce an nagging injury to the world.

Certain? No. I imagine most of these guys are banged up. Samberg easily could be.

I'm not going to overthink this one though. They are getting Stanley ice time because they can see themselves possibly inserting him in the post season.

Jets are creeping back towards that "union shop" mentality as Hustler called it from the Maurice days. It's not about who's coming in, Stanley has been moatly solid from what I can recall last two months. It's about who doesn't have to come out.

Feels that way anyway.

Some of the lineup decisions reek of panic mode. Unless Samberg is nursing something he is better than Stanley in every facet of the game with the exception of his shot.

And if the coaching staff is wanting to do some load management why would the 3rdpairing guys always be the ones rotated out. Pionk should really be taken out for a couple games-Dillon got a "rest" with his laughable suspension. I can see 44 and 2 not coming out but the only way Pionk should be untouchable in the lineup is if he suddenly channelled Robert Gordon Orr which is a bigger pipe dream than the Jets winning the Cup.

And it seems Helle is going to be trotted out until we win again so we may completely burn him out before the playoffs even start.

I'll say that if the Jets win this game it will be the 3rd and 4th lines winning it for us, inspite of the play of the top 2 lines.

I also predict KFC will think he's outside in the cold wind of spring lol, by the number of times a Coiler blows right past him on the way in for a high danger chance.

Pretty much. If it's load management, give some of the guys a rest.

The thing is, it's the top six and top four that probably need it more...

Not a bad thing to get all the depth guys some reps though.

Too bad Pionk isn't nursing anything lol

I hear you haha

Last year Pionk had a pretty bad injury he was nursing as well.

Some guys are above being swapped out of the lineup, some guys aren't. I'm not optimistic it is more complicated than that.

There's a good chance they are simply moving the Dmen in and out possibly due to nicks and possibly to give them a break - because our D are worked hard in most games - especially lately.

How were his numbers in the last game?
Truthfully I don't look at numbers so I have no idea. He has played well for the most part no glaring mistakes, he did have a bit of a tough one a few back but again nothing to my eye warranting a healthy scratch. He does block shots and those can take a lot out of you

I'm trying to kill all the bugs in my place but they keep multiplying faster than I can kill them. Maybe the Jets have the same problem.

I don't pay that much attention to them either - and I missed the game.
But he was out there for both even strength goals against.
But that shouldn't keep him out of the lineup - I assume it's a night off from the grind.

I got that part. Except for Morrissey, DeMelo, Dillon and Pionk, who don't rotate out.

To me it's just the Jets feel the top four don't come out, and Pionk is a fixture there. Samberg isn't. I don't think it's more complicated than that, but obviously no way I can be sure.
