Post-Game Talk: GAME 72 - Down and Out in Beverly Hills - Los Angeles 7 BRUINS 2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
It just feels like they're counting the days to go home at this point.

I'm probably wrong, but I still feel like not challenging that offsides was so demotivating to everyone in that locker room. A powerful message in a bad way... Why try to win if your own coaching staff doesn't want too?
or you might just be right and if so, the players would feel that.

Hell, even my mom said earlier in the year "It seems like the team plays better in front of Korpisalo" - She might be onto something because I see it too. I think Swayman likely caused a divide in that room.
We are on the same page, on the divisiveness, in the room, I was not always there but I am now.

Not challenging that offsides had to be a clear message to the locker room that this season is toast. Why would any players try to get up for any game at this point?

Collect your checks and see you in September. To state the obvious. if they don't have a good 2 months to start the season next year we could be looking at a long rebuild here..
They had to challenge it. I know folks are on tank versus pride in the logo. They gave the players no reason to give a rip.

Since putting up this avatar a few weeks ago, I thought that maybe I was being too harsh and thought about changing it to cute puppies or kittens (love 'em both) but after seeing
the conceited millionaires performance this week, I think it'll stay.

could be. I will be watching (in the last 4 home games) to see the interaction between players.

Fake tough guy, like his fake business guy persona...........fake,fake,, fake
He should focus on, oh I don't know, stopping the puck~ He didn't have much of a track record so maybe Sweeney should have gone with Kopisalo and Dipietro to start the year. In retrospect, it wouldn't have made much of a difference to where we are today. (sigh).

Spent last night watching the NCAA tournament and the Big 10 Mens Hockey final. I kept flipping over to the Bruins game at the commercial breaks. Every time I flipped over, LA scored within 30 seconds. 3rd goal? Saw it. 4th goal? Saw it. 5th goal? Saw it. 6th goal? Saw it. Finally, I stopped switching over.

I literally watched a total of maybe 5 minutes of that game and saw 4 LA goals....It was enough to know that Swayman wasn't sharp.

Swayman was in the Bruins net for 3 plus seasons. Coming off a great playoff performance. Pretty good track record. Certainly better than Korpi and Dipietro (who has none).

I am unsure about a divide, but I agree, they play better in front of Korp.

Is Jeremy Swayman the Aaron Rogers of the NHL?
Where is this stuff even being manufactured from? I'm not saying you're starting it or even wrong but what is the source people have on Swayman having a different belief set to the rest of his teammates and that being the clear issue with the team?

Not one guy can contribute to putting the puck in the net consistently on this team unless Pasta is involved and they haven't had their d core fully healthy since November. I'm all for finding the root to the problem but it seems a lot of people decided Sway was the problem in October and are just grasping at anything to prove themselves right in a season where only the superstar and the backup goalie look like they should.

Just a reminder that those moral victory wins after the TDL against TBL & FLA did squat for this team. Had this team lost those two games, we'd be in the mix for the #5OA spot with PHI.

As for the idea that the Bruins play better in front of Korpisalo....its a mirage. Go look and see who Korpisalo plays (hint: many are in bottom 3rd of the NHL or non-playoff teams).

It's coming from the a subset of fans. This subset is so irate that Swayman had the audacity to do an interview during the summer that they want him to be the root of evil. Its mind blowing to me how goalies get treated in Boston. For years you'd have though Rask was a mass murderer the way some people talked about it. Fast forward and Swayman was a fan favorite less than a year ago. He gets paid in the off-season and then becomes public enemy #1 for this subset of Bruins fans.
