If we outshot our opponents 2:1 every game, we would win the Cup.

We're outplaying them but a lot of those shots are unscreened point shots.

We also put too much stock into who we're playing.

Folks complain about "playing down to our opponent" and "can't believe we're losing to this team."

This is a parity league. Very few teams, if any, are truly bad at this level.

It's not like the Premier League we're you're playing literally a minor league team that just got promoted or MLB where you're playing a team with a $5m payroll.

Sure but it's still not good enough. I was hoping after how bad they were Friday they would come out and play their best game of the season but that didn't happen. Outplaying a terrible team with nothing left to play for should be a given at this point in the season. Trailing that very team 2-0 going into the third, despite outplaying them, with Martin Jones in net is really bad.

It still doesn't mean that they haven't carried the play. They have also hit 3 posts and Shesty allowed a terrible goal. Sometimes goalies steal games. This is nothing like the shit storm against the Piles. They just need 1 to get things started. The Flyers will fold like a cheap suit.
