There are many pros and cons to both options but a lot of parents don't want their kids fighting with everything that's now known now about concussions. They especially don't want them fighting men in their 16-17 year old rookie seasons when their kids aren't even close to fully grown.
While having your 16 year-old son fighting a 20/21 year-old isn't ideal, they need to look into CTEs and concussions as your child is going to get that getting smoked.

There are players getting into maybe 1 fight a year, but taking a hundred hits a season.

And honestly, there are ALOT of people that don't undersrand head trauma can and does come from hitting.

Hagel scores! I still think Tampa is better than Toronto. They may be inconsistent but they got the size and grit to just overcome adversity.

I don't think many logical people would argue that the lightning aren't better. The question is how much gas they have in the tank.

I wonder if the people pushing for fights actually played junior and fought? If they want toughness maybe they should demonstrate by joining leagues with no age limits that allow fighting so they can demonstrate how much tougher they are than these junior players who actually want to play hockey?
It won't be long before there is no fighting in all three CHL leagues. They've been trending in that direction by putting in limits to number of fights. Most CHL players will never have a career in hockey and as we mentioned there are massive differences in physical maturity when it comes to 16 year olds vs fully grown 20-21 year old men. Imagine a 16 year old fighting someone like Jackeye last year!

As far as whether these posters pushing for fights have ever been in a fight ice, I often assume most of them don't get out of the house much let alone ever been in a hockey fight.

Have they showed drouin on the bench ? Is he wearing a little hat with a propeller on the top ?

Quite the hot take. People can’t have an opinion because they aren’t fist fighting ? Lol

As opposed to our own dimension...
