A lot of 16-17 year olds in the CHL aren't even close to fully grown. Many parents are choosing NCAA over CHL because of this.

Is it, or do players get sent there because those schools are better regarded ? You get a scholarship to go there, but you need to stay with your CHL team to get a year of free schooling.

Each yeah in a CHL league = a free year (or something similar) in any (?) Canadian college/university.

Even more ridiculous is a league where a 20-year old can fight a 17-year old.

Or a 21 year old overager could potentially fight a 15 year old prodigy with a 50 pound weight difference.

Coaches like Therrien send out their 20 year old goons to fight skilled 16 year olds on other teams. Who would want their 16 year old kid to be involved?

I wonder if the people pushing for fights actually played junior and fought? If they want toughness maybe they should demonstrate by joining leagues with no age limits that allow fighting so they can demonstrate how much tougher they are than these junior players who actually want to play hockey?
