Have you ever seen anything as weird as this in an NHL game? I am freaked out that it is happening lol.

NYR's did it in a game just prior to Kane trade to TWO players. Dressed them, but didn't play them. Schneider was one. They needed to clear cap by sending them both down to AHL, and didn't want to risk an injury (can't send down injured players), so they both dressed but didn't play.

As a punishment...not that I can recall.

Haha!!! Jamal Mayers is one of the two idiots coaching the U10 team in St Louis (the other is Matt Lashoff) that constantly berates young teenage officials. It's the same team that Tim Peel's son plays on. Peel got a suspension for barging into the referees room and going apeshit on the teenage officials.
