obviously not in your mind...they tried and things (like Carter) didn't work out...him handcuffing the cap didn't help...

Clearly they could did the best they could. Wasn't there a protest and them consulting a P.R. firm pior to this? So how does the front office get made out like saints here?

I'm just feel Nash was in the right to ask for a trade and if you were in the same position you would have done the same. So it's that double standard that annoys me.

Back from the game. GREAT atmosphere!! Haven't ever been to a NHL playoff game; but I imagine that's pretty close to the way it is.

Only downside...........waaaaaay too many people in Rags sweaters (I'm sure they're all home by now - in Dublin, Upper A, Grove City, etc.).

As for Nasher............

As Michael Corleone said to Fredo.............."You're dead to me now"

The asking of a trade is justified. He wanted to win and the organization was in shambles. It's how he handled it, trying to make it out as a charitable act for the best of the Blue Jackets, not his own damn self. Man up, and if you saw him play from 2010-2012, you know that wasn't in his vocabulary.

Addition by subtraction. Hell of a player, but I will take the 100% efforts night in and night out by Dubinsky all day over that guy. Add in Anisimov, Rychel and Erixon, and it's not even a question.

Dating to start of 2011-12 season, #CBJ are 1-9-1 when #Nationwide is sold out. Although the masses have rarely been entertained like this.

Guess they should be asking fans to stay away for our big playoff push.

Watching Johansen was fun tonight, you could see how bad he wanted to win and he always at least tried to start something with the puck on his stick. It really stood out to me.

He's also looked like he was playing with a "hard nosed" edge again which I can't tell if I like but it's something new. It's probably confidence growing.

Just saw the NHL Tonight highlights. They are having a Rick Nash lovefest in their highlights too. Makes me want to puke.

Well, Nash said he's glad it's over, and he wont miss Columbus...lol

I guess a true rivalry is born between the Jackets and the Rangers.

At Richards's pace, he is going sit Johanson for Frattin next game.

If this garbage continues (1 goal games) than Cam and RJ better sure as hell be traded in the offseason. You can't out 2nd AND 3rd leading scoring now. One of the two I get it....but TWO. Unless they REALLY don't fit ....then you play these clowns.

Whale of a game. Going to need to play through this funk and find some goals again, but I cannot argue with the effort and style that I see. Get one on the Island and come back for another big one on Tuesday.

No one said it was going to be easy.

It's a shame they tied it at 1-1 so soon after the goal. The celebration on the glass in front of a Nash filled penalty box was just juicy.

I didn't see the game. I knew it was going to be the biggest game of the year but I had a commitment.:help: Just watched it on dtmts, and wow that was intense. Who won the battle of chances? The team isn't playing bad lately, definitely outplaying the other team most games, so I'd normally say keep going, "play through this funk" and the goal slump will end.

This all started too when Richards started tinkering with the lines (and lineup). Putting the boat anchor Horton on a line with RyJo was a mistake.

I think we actually started the stretch of 1 goal games with Horton off RyJo's line.

I remember thinking a few weeks back that those were the best Jackets lines I'd ever seen.

Jenner-Johansen-Horton
Foligno-Anisimov-Gaborik
Calvert-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Mackenzie-Letestu-Tropp

Those were the days.

Realistically though I can't say if our scoring issue is all that strongly affected by lines, it looks like we're piling up chances and just not burying them.

The lack of scoring lately is hard to fathom. Not long ago we were what, 6th in goals for? I think definitely top ten. But that was pretty unexpected too, coming into the season. Maybe we're coming back to earth?

Not long ago we were also respectably ranked on the PP, moreso at home. I don't know where we are now after this horrid stretch

As for the scratching controversy, I don't know what to think. It's obviously going to be magnified negatively if we lose. If Richards scratches Horton for a couple games I'll call him a genius, though I'd be fine if Tropp sits. We have a lot of bodies, and with this insane level of physical play and back to back games, I think a rotation is exactly what we should be doing, even if its unconventional. (As long as its not Dubinsky, Foligno, Anisimov, Johansen, or Jenner. I would start a Fire Richards thread in a heartbeat.)

I'd like to chalk it up to a rotation, but RJ in the last two games consecutively is bewildering. I somehow think he would have been especially valuable tonight. Both games were chippy but RJ on home ice with pride on the line? We all remember the soccer ball! :)

Yeah I wouldn't have scratched him in a game like tonight, but as far as scratch candidates generally go, RJ is on the list. I think its a rare game that he makes his linemates better (its hard to do that when you can't keep the puck), and I think Coach Richards is thinking the same way. (That and the soccer ball thing was a looong time ago). Next game though, I hope its Horton.

He actually said the exact opposite in his postgame comments.

Not live from the locker room, the bolded part was removed on the replay.

But you don't have to be genius to understand that Nash doesn't exactly love the Jackets and their fans anymore, not after what happened in this game.

What I'm trying to say is...that's not what he told NYC journalists. But it's obvious anyway...
