We all agreed Bob would have to be our MVP for us to make the playoffs. A horrible goal in the biggest game in franchise history with 6 minutes to go isn't gonna do it.

Sucks.

Lots of guys seemed to want to dance with the puck. Floigno, Atkinson, Calvert to a lesser extent.

Anisimov is one of the only guys out there that seems willing to shoot on a regular basis.

Well it wasn't the ending I wanted, but it was entertaining.
And absolutely loved the Nash stuff, what a schmuck.

You can't pull the goalie without any control of the neutral zone/offensive zone. Likely would have lost regardless but just saying. Girardi prevented us from getting at least 1 point here on that play.

Losing 2 of three this week has really made CBJ have their work cut out for them. We lost the "easy" game of the week to Khudobin and lost what could be one of the most important games of the season to NYR.

Not the end of the world (2 points back, 1 game in hand with plenty to go). But it sure is frustrating in those stretches where we carry the play through relentless forechecking but can't finish the chances. Most of these games feel like blatant missed opportunities. And if that's the only way we can play, the D and Bob HAVE to be better. That 2nd goal was garbage and has no place in a game like this. We should've at lesat gotten a point.

I'm not sure this team's physical play at the moment is sustainable for 8 games in 12 days, and then in a potential playoff series. We're going to grind ourselves down into the dirt. At some point, you've got to try to complete a pass or shoot the puck instead of launching yourself into a dude at 100mph.

Also, legit question - did Horton play in the 3rd period?

I always laugh when people have to label one game as the one that caused this or that. If the Jackets fail down the stretch, it'll simply be the lack of scoring that cost them their place. You can't win every game 2-1, that's too much pressure on the back 3. The front 3 on the ice have gotta do more. I love our forechecking game but it's all for not if you don't cash in more often than once a game.

I'll be honest. We get a lucky break, we give up an idiotic goal immediately after (typical). Then Brassard decides he is going to have a flash of brilliance. Those blaming Bob for that one... Well let's just say I'm not.

This skill discussion is kind of dumb (I'm being too kind here). We're not executing and the coaching staff doesn't have the answer. One top of that we can't finish a breakaway to save our collective *****.

I agree. Then again, every single shift is so important, we'd blame them for not banging bodies and trying to retrieve the puck so we can create offense and get some damn points. It's a catch-22.

Umberger needs a jersey on Sunday. Aside from the obvious fresher legs, there's no way he's the 13th-or-worse forward on the team for crying out loud. Stop dicking around now at this crucial time of year.

eff.

Well it was a great game. We got to see Nash's true colors, too. Cross checks Bob, decides to fight a guy much smaller than he is. What a great guy, huh?

No a lot to say, except the power play needs to improve and the GWG goal was a real stinker.

Really sucks.

It seems lately Hortons most visible and getting penalties. I love the gritty and intense play but you still have to put the puck in the net. It's hard for me to digest putting our top scorers in the press box for the fifth consecutive game
