Further to that, I hope Chicago is blitzed - even if, paradoxically, I'll be cheering for them - in the playoffs, just so that they jump in on the Kesler sweepstakes too. Not out of the realm of possibility, they're dropping in the standings.

I couldn't possibly cheer for Chicago. Though Kane is not on my ****list and is a treat to watch.

Think this is what we're looking at next season?

Sedin - Sedin - Jensen
Burrows - XX - Kassian
Higgins - Horvat - Hansen
Sestito - Dalpe - Matthias

Hamhuis - Tanev
Stanton - XX
XX - Corrado

Lack
Markstrom

Richardson gone? A happy player in Santorelli not going to be offered a contract?

Ewing theory.

They've won 2 games without him. Over-reliance on Kesler makes the team worse, especially for next season when he is traded at the draft. :sarcasm: (half-serious though)

They should rename it the Kesler theory. In the past 2 seasons the Canucks have a .686 record and a +16 goal differential in 35 games without Kesler and a .494 record and a -30 goal differential in 83 games with him.

I don't think there's any real debate who the more important Sedin is nowadays...

too bad it very late in the season......what if he had done this in January?

that's a unique situation though, as he was labouring with injuries and the pretence that his ironman streak could go on forever. i'm not sure he even came back fully healed, but it was probably the kind of injury you can't do anything about - just gamble that it doesn't get aggrevated as it recovers. it looks like it's finally starting to recover.

I predict Henrik will get to 50 point mark by end of season...that would be pretty good 50 points in 74 games is satisfying I think

put me on the split the Sedins train, Jensen has taken over the goal scorer role than Danny used to have. Put Danny on the second line as a playmaker depending on what happens to Burrows.

I am less surprised than most of you by Kassian's ice time and utilization. It's an old school philosophy from Torts, which is frustrating some of you. Kassian made a stupendously stupid hit that put his team shorthanded not just in that game, but for the next 3, right in the middle of a playoff hunt. When we could have used his strong offensive play, when he is focused, he took himself out of the lineup.

keep Burrows with Henrik and Jensen, put Daniel and Kassasin with a center.

Jensen Henrik Burrows
Daniel XXX Kassain

you could also say tortorella ensured kassian would make goon moves because he gives him goon minutes. his icetime has not changed an iota since his most recent suspension

kassian's defensive game has improved remarkably. lately he's even been directing play in his own end, which is a massive step up. he earned a shot at top-6 minutes well before the suspension and nothing in his game has otherwise changed - the dumb hit was an anomaly

Can't have him scoring points and looking good with a new contract coming up :sarcasm:

Sure doesn't seem like we do because he's been trapped on the third line for essentially the entire season.

**** I keep forgetting he's Danish for some reason.
Half anyways.

His father Dan is Canadian-born, played in the OHL, moved to Denmark to play hockey, met and married a Dane and had Nicklas while he played for the Herning Blue Fox.

His hockey skills are something he inherited from his father. Dan Jensen was born in Canada, and after a short career in the OHL, he spent 16 seasons playing professional hockey in Denmark -- all but one of them as a defenseman for Herning. He had 175 goals and 954 penalty minutes in 549 games in a career that went from 1989-2005.

"I've been watching him all my life," Nicklas said of his father. "Every home game I've been out there watching him. He's a huge thing for me in hockey and I watched him a lot of times. He's definitely one of the biggest reasons I'm here."
