Also ~ this should have been a Korpisalo game with Swayman getting back to backs vs Dallas and the Leafs
Agree. I was surprised Sway started this one. At the very least we could have blamed the loss on Korpse and simply moved on from it to face Dallas with Sway. I wonder what Jay Leach would have done?

These last two games were great. They put both me and my 10 month old right to sleep! Never felt so rested.

Time to tank for 2-3 years. Nothing good will come out of this current team.

Now Sweeney, Neely and "Monty" are not the people you want around leading a rebuild.
If/when they rebuild (btw, they never will, with this owner), the current FO is the people I would have do it.
I've said it before, be ready for a decade of
"good enough to barely make the playoffs, not good enough to win a round"

Bruins owe me a couple hours of sleep for that one

They might not be good enough to barely squeak in as of today

The team isn't on the same page and it's clear. They don't know what style they want to play when they hit the ice and are careless with the puck with all of the behind the back prayer passes. Swayman's numbers look awful but he's been holding back the barrage from all the lazy turnovers his team is giving up in front of him.
To be honest, I think they botched training camp and the exhibition games, gave the maybes, wannabes and kids too many games, didn’t play the regulars together enough. Not the whole problem obviously, but it’s a domino effect into these first seven games, other than the 4th line, there’s no chemistry or identity. Missed passes, D men knocking each other over(happened at least twice last night:help:), some horrible line changes. There’s time to right the ship, but the clock is ticking and Monty certainly hears it.

Everyone said that Jay Leach was this defenseman whisperer, all I see this year is a D playing miles below their capabilities, early returns, but so far not looking like a good hire.

Montgomery clearly failed to manage the preseason.

He also has clearly failed to build a system for success for this type of roster. Clone Florida's simple yet effective system.

Separating coach from person and his time is ending soon at this rate. Soft, dull hockey is not what Bruins fans want.

Stunned Jones did not try to offset the penalties and his poor start with even a token fight. Mccarron and Lauzon are always willing....

PP ineffective. PK not the typical elite. Uninspiring hockey, little emotion, no attempt at physicality.

I expected lack of offense with this roster but that was supposed to be overcome with size, grit, and toughness....

This early start is also confirming the fact that Frederic is merely complementary and invisible far more than not. He should be paid as such or traded.

I’ve seen this before and the coaching change was next step

They are underachieving

At what level I don’t know but I think it’s between moderate to significant

If im a highly overpaid consultant I recommend to Donny that let’s see how the Bruins respond against two of the better teams over 4 days

If I don’t see passion I recommend Sacco Magic and Kelly runs F and Leach D~ no additional coaching adds. These 3 know this team and organization

What I expect to happen
Monty let go & team responds very well
The season started with the Swyman affaire, and what happened in the Monty and Marchand affaire is a symptom of a present or latent problem. I'm not saying that Monty is not good or responsible, but from my fan experience, a coach taking a different action linked to a behavior, indicates a possible discomfort. The Bruins play seem to be or might be the result of all this discomfort. I don't beleive Marchand is finish, either Pasta can't score or ALL player at the same time don't care, and IMO they are better down the middle than last year. So no reason why Boston can not have some success or play better.

Work to be done,

47 was surely needed. Love the guy

It’s often the way that when a team that’s been at a high level for a long time falls into decline, almost all the players lose form and start to look bad at the same time. It’s not one or two, or just some depth players, it tends to be everybody. Loss of rhythm and confidence is infectious.

And that’s the Bruins at the moment. Amongst the guys who are carry overs from last year’s roster, only Beecher and Swayman are playing anywhere close to their ability. Hampus Lindholm has probably been ok too. That’s it. From Pasta to young Poitras, it’s a struggle across the board. Same goes for the coach. Two years of over-achieving, now looks near-clueless.

A bad, listless outing by a team that’s only falling deeper into a hole, but I’m not changing my tune. No need for knee jerk reactions. Get to Thanksgiving or so and then we’ll see where things are at that point. Can’t be complacent, but shouldn’t panic either. Both the coaching group and the players have to know now that they’re not remotely close to the mark in most areas. We’re beyond just bad puck luck or simply waiting for things to gel. So revise and simplify the game plan, get the players to have a good hard look at themselves and where they’re at, see who actually wants to take charge in the locker room and make a difference, try and get some collective buy in and see what happens in the next 2-3 weeks. They turn things around then happy days, if not, well there may be some hard decisions to be made. Just not yet, IMO.
This was the team I expected after Bergeron and Krecji left.

The front office saying they wanted to be bigger, more physical, and tougher to play against like Florida missed the fact that FLA has a highly skilled, productive top 6 that balances out the bigger, physical piece. Getting bigger and slower and less skilled like Boston has year over year is why they look like complete shit this season. Florida has a top 6, Boston has Pasta and a bunch of bottom 6 players slotted up.

You people realize that the bruins are 500 and we've only played seven games and they are currently two points out of first place in the division yet everyone is acting like the season is over

For all the size they added, they play incredibly small. No check is finished, no contact initiated, no front of the net presence. Nobody fears going into a corner with them. They don't shoot the puck. It's the Ice Capades. They don't seem to have any idea what the team identity is.
