Whoever watches this game and cheers for them is a freaking idiot.

They don't deserve it. No one should turn on their tv.
Try to do it alone you f***ers, and beg for the fans to come back and cheer for you in the second round.

I did my part. Year, after year. I owe you nothing.

I don’t think there will be a move even if we lose. Matthews/Marner aren’t going anywhere, and I’d hope they don’t trade Willy. They’ll probably just try and rearrange the d-core again by moving our Reilly. The reality is it’s just hard to rely on a bunch of 22-24 year olds to lead your team in the playoffs.

I expect the Habs to skate around the leafs for the first 5-10 mins of this game. Power play to be cold. Zero intensity from certain players

Completely agree. If the top line would have shown up this series, we wouldn't be in the situation we are today. Like yea, Thornton isn't a great player, but I'd argue his pass to Matthews on the pp was more dangerous than any Marner/Hyman play all game.

You need your big guys to perform, and that has simply not happened.

As I said in my follow up post. As bad as he's been in 10-11 minutes, he has the same number of goals as Matthews and Hyman in this series (1) and more than Marner (0), despite them playing 2.5-3× his minutes and getting all the offensive zone starts and the the dangerous looks on the powerplay.

Thornton is washed. Nobody is defending him. But his 11 minutes per night are barely an issue compared to the embarrassment of a series top line is putting forth.

For the record, I was obnoxiously vocal l on this board when they paid a huge ransom for washed up Nick Foligno as well. He's been even more useless to this team, at that price point, than even I could have imagined.

It's hard to just ignore the game. It's a game 7, it is still supposed to be exciting. I wanna see how it all turns out.

This franchise is one of the biggest jokes in top-level sports, forget the NHL. Honestly, who even compares, anywhere? Portsmouth FC? Even the Cleveland Browns have advanced in the playoffs recently (this year), Leeds United are back in the premiership, and the Leafs former baseball analogues (the Cubs) broke their drought recently.

The Detroit Lions have won 1 playoff game since 1957. They had a winless season .It’s tough to believe, but it could be worse.

What a shame that they're soooo tied to two playoff choke artists like #34 and #16. Before you know it, you're essentially Calgary, with the ghost of regular season Auston Matthews, featuring Mitch Marner as Johnny Gaudreau.

Habs will be up 2-1 after 2. They'll come out flying in the 3rd to go up 4-1. 4th goal from a 2 on 1

Nylander will set up Kerfoot for a goal. 4-2.

They'll score another one on a rebound in front with the goalie pulled. Nylander makes it 4-3.

With the goalie still pulled, Matthews will toss a muffin from the blue line which will find its way into the net thanks to a Holl screen in front of Price. 4-4 (Joe gets the secondary assist)

In OT, Matthews will score after Price flops around trying to find the puck. Leafs win 5-4

Can anybody tell me why #34 suddenly can't hit the net at all? And when he does, it's right into Price's chest? Where the hell did the release and the accuracy that won him the Rocket and had him on pace for 60 goals in the regular season, go?

Then they are delusional. We shouldn't waste our time watching them next season. They ain't winning the Atlantic division, let alone the cup.

Leafs lose 5-2. 2-2 going into 3rd Campbell let’s in a squeaker in the first minute of the 3rd. Habs score to make it 4-2 with 7 minutes left and then add an empty netter.

Leafs will pay the Price for relying on Jack Campbell.

Call me crazy, but I think we win convincingly.

Re: Willie/Matthews/Marner, Willie has been great, and honestly I think Matthews has been really good. He’s gotten unlucky, tonnes of great chances that haven’t quite gone in, but he’s dominating possession, playing far more physical than he has before, generating tonnes of scoring chances and playing well defensively. The points will come, if we move on.

Marner has to be better though.

It's our PP for me. Ice cold still. With this much talent, it's unacceptable. We had even a decent PP and we're on to the next series. Not to mention, it's an area that could get (and should've gotten) Marner going

Montreal is an organization that knows how to win in the underdog role. They’ve done it countless times including last year and are going to do it again on Monday.

At what point are fans going to start demanding results?
