E staal at lw, is that normal, does he switch with Rask? Seems weird with Skinner on the 3rd line too. Does your coach blender the lines much?

Indeed, Peters blenders up the lines between games. The main reason Skinner's on the 3rd line is that he works there - he hasn't shown much/any chemistry with either Staal, so that precludes his use on either of the top 2 lines. For comparisons sake our forward lines the other night in Colorado were

McGinn - E. Staal - Versteeg
Gerbe - J. Staal - Nestrasil
Skinner - Rask - Lindholm
Malone - McClement - Terry

Really the only lines that doesn't see much movement is the 4th line and the defensive pairings. E. Staal's started 3 games at LW (including tonight) and 4 games at C. Each of the games he's started on the wing, Rask has centered the top line.

We know the team will likely not play well. They have a chance to actually move into first place in the division with a win in reg/ot. And that never seems to sit well with this team. Early in the season or not.

*VIDEO GAME POST WARNING* The Canes are the team I play as now in the EA NHL games most of the time, just because everyone who drops into a lobby and sees LA on the other side whines a bit and then drops out.

They're really fast, Skinner has an insane wrister and Eric Staal plays like Lemieux-lite in that game. Also Cam Ward isn't streaky, so they're a quality team. People see the Canes in the lobby, decide they won't use their regular team (90% Vancouver), and use a similarly rated team that they have no experience with. It's a deadly combination.

********

I haven't watched a Canes game in a couple of years, so I don't know if any of that holds true.

I like this preview, and it needs to be added to every GDT

I need to download the game and maybe sim each one, heh.

I'd like to see how Weal does on the wing. Some guys handle it better than others. I don't know that a blanket statement can be made there.

Team was carreid by one line last night..so the rest of the team should be well rested!!

I'm definitely open to see him on the wing. I just prefer that he play his natural position, so that we may watch him at his best.

yeah thats true. he's always been a great centre, great in face-offs. hmmm... i guess just get him in there first and see what happens.

It's funny how some people have come to believe that faceoffs are one of the most important skill set for a center. Didn't they show a stat in last night's game where Columbus was leading the entire NHL in faceoffs? That should tell you all you need to know about faceoffs, and how important they are.
