Yeah, as I've said before, it's less a coaching mistake and more a roster problem. Move Eklund up, now your second line is dependent on Graf (who might be able to hack it as a solid 3rd liner, but 2nd line is asking a lot).

And Toffoli has a chance at 30 goals on this team... sure, he's not fast, but he's smart as hell and he has an incredible release, so ... hard to blame the coaching staff for putting your best goal scorer with your top center. If Toffoli is our best scorer, and that's not good enough... that's a roster problem.

The point about Toffoli is that with just him and an ineffective opposite wing, you will not be breaking a strong defense. So it's less Celebrini having a bad game and more not having any options but to try to force plays when his linemates can't make plays themselves or help in any way.

If the 2nd line is going to be offensively ineffective anyway Graf is ok there. To break this defense coach needed to load his top line and he refused to.

Who knows why he decided to break up That 70s Line, I agree with you it seems foolish, but we'll see if he goes back to it next game. I bet he does because it's the most effective line we have, and Graf-Wennberg-Smith looked decent as well whereas Graf looked lost on the first line.
