I'm not too worrted about Guhle he did finish the game he got hurt in and there is no possible way they would play him if he wasn't fit.

Someone explain to me please how this is possible

Trades can still be done. Before the deadline allows for players to play in the NHL regular season and playoffs.

If you deal after you can't play in the remaining of the regular season, or playoffs.

AHL deadline is soon and seems he's just playing in the A

We can still trade Eddy and Drouin?

Habs dropped their 4th game in a row, a 4-3 shootout loss to the Canes. This was their first game back after after a 7-day road trip to the US west coast, where they won 1 game and lost 3.

The game against the Canes was also Mike Matheson Bobblehead Night. And no, his nickname is not "RONA".

Turns out he does have a nickname courtesy of Mike Hoffman.

Matheson/ Madison, what's in a name? Close enough. And so, everyone now calls him "Billy" in the Habs dressing room:

Matheson has been sizzling since his return from injury and has shown why Hughes was so adamant about acquiring him. He scored 8 points in 9 February games (good enough for a share of the Molson Cup, whatever that thing stands for), while displaying a lot of moxy in his play.

He just seems to be getting stronger and faster the more games he plays.

If you're looking for speed, he's got it:

Physical dominance? Yes!

Rv0ZGTB.gif

Scoring prowess? Naturally.

Not to be outdone, Captain Nick has found his groove again, amassing 7 points in his last 8 games.

However, he was held scoreless against the Canes. That's when we found out what it takes to stop him ...

Perhaps inspired by the performances of his teammates, Michael Pezzetta is also coming into his own, even if he's not a top line player. With only 8:28 minutes of playing time, he managed a goal and an assist against the Canes.

But wait, there's more.

There was this nifty aerial display against Carolina that thwarted a golden scoring opportunity for them:

Pezzetta may sometimes fly under the radar, given his limited ice time and bottom 6 role. However, he's noticeable in other ways.

We've all seen his fashionista side, when he arrives at the Bell Centre or any other arena, or is coming out of an aircraft or a bus.

He'll go the extra mile to express his personality.

He can also handle himself when fighting but, there's another thing you can't help but notice.

That's right, Pezzetta is a member in good standing of the Follicular HOF all thanks to a spectacular flow.

The last time we had a Capillary Maven on the team, he used his flow in suave motions that produced airs of grandeur, which invited a breeze like the ones from a dramatic movie scene.

So all of it begs a couple of questions.

For one, is there such a thing as having too much flow? Someone should ask Marty ...

Let's take another look at that whipping hair that slapped Marty in the face, but in slo-mo.

Essentially, why go with the flow when you can go with the overflow.

Which brings us to our second question. Who flaunted it best?

And finally, the Rags. They'll be in the playoffs, they made a couple of big name acquisitions at the trading deadline (what else is new) and they're likely to get bounced yet again in the post-season.

For now, let's see how they hold up against the onslaught of no-quit buzz saws from a decimated team.

Soooo.... not playing tonight?

Slaf-Dach-Caufield
Byron-Monahan-Gallagher
Evans-Dvorak-Armia

Ghule (?)Harris
Baron Xhekaj

Price

Are we going to beat our own all time record of missed games 2 years in a row?
As of February 24th the Habs were at 438.

Guhle is playing..

Byron, Price, Caufield, Xhekaj are all out for the season.

Habs have 18 games left. 4 x 18. 76.

438
76
Is 514 -

514 is the area code for Montreal.

Illuminati confirmed.

That said, it's very possible they beat it again.

Do contenders go through a lull after trade deadline? It seems the same every season. Part of it must be trying to incorporate the new pieces and the other part of it must be a mental let down like "we got these guys" I can take it easy.

I think they can actually still play in the regular season if traded after they deadline, however they aren't eligible for the playoffs.

I feel like it also coincides with the time of year where a lot of teams know they're going to make the playoffs, and don't have much purpose in their final games.

Contrasted with bubble teams who know the next dozen games will likely decide their spring.

I now understand why some here do not like the Pez Dispenser. Since male pattern baldness affects them, they resent his flow which is long enough for all of them combined.

We always play the Rags well, gonna be weird to see Kane & Tarasenko out there for them.
Tread very lightly with this topic, it nearly got me killed about a week ago lol.

I can't believe our C's up the middle lol
We went from Suz, Dach, Monahan, Dvorak, Evans to..

This lol

Perfectly fine with it for the remainder of this season!! :)

The contrast between these two lineups is staggering.

Ones almost a complete AHL team, the other is filled with superstars and future HOFers.

Yet, I still see us either winning or losing in OT.

Am I crazy or I'm the only one that sees a mini version of Lehkonen in Ylonen long term?

If Ylonen could add a bit of Lehky's battle and sacrifice he would be a hell of a player. I do see some similarities, for sure.

Ylonen looks a bit more dynamic skating and using edges than Lehky, but is still a little tentative and perimeter based. That's been trending in a better direction though.

Don't know how we're going to find NHL roster space for all these guys next year. I'd also say Pezz and RHP look like NHLers.

Lehkonen and Ylonen have some similarities. Shot, skating, not play drivers with the puck.

So far, I see a little more playmaking ability in Ylonen. Lehkonen was more effective in the dirty areas. It remains to be seen if Ylonen can be anywhere near as good defensively and at not turning over the puck/taking care of the puck.

It sure would be nice to move one or both of Armia and Hoffman. Maybe you take a worse player back with an equally bad contract and put the player in Laval.

Or just put Armia and/or Hoffman in the NHL.
