It means there will be more Ozempic commercials, guaranteed.
Habs dropped their 4th game in a row, a 4-3 shootout loss to the Canes. This was their first game back after after a 7-day road trip to the US west coast, where they won 1 game and lost 3.
The game against the Canes was also Mike Matheson Bobblehead Night. And no, his nickname is not "RONA".
![]()
Turns out he does have a nickname courtesy of Mike Hoffman.
Matheson/ Madison, what's in a name? Close enough. And so, everyone now calls him "Billy" in the Habs dressing room:
![]()
Matheson has been sizzling since his return from injury and has shown why Hughes was so adamant about acquiring him. He scored 8 points in 9 February games (good enough for a share of the Molson Cup, whatever that thing stands for), while displaying a lot of moxy in his play.
He just seems to be getting stronger and faster the more games he plays.
If you're looking for speed, he's got it:
![]()
Physical dominance? Yes!
![]()
Scoring prowess? Naturally.
![]()
Not to be outdone, Captain Nick has found his groove again, amassing 7 points in his last 8 games.
However, he was held scoreless against the Canes. That's when we found out what it takes to stop him ...

Perhaps inspired by the performances of his teammates, Michael Pezzetta is also coming into his own, even if he's not a top line player. With only 8:28 minutes of playing time, he managed a goal and an assist against the Canes.
But wait, there's more.
There was this nifty aerial display against Carolina that thwarted a golden scoring opportunity for them:
![]()
Pezzetta may sometimes fly under the radar, given his limited ice time and bottom 6 role. However, he's noticeable in other ways.
We've all seen his fashionista side, when he arrives at the Bell Centre or any other arena, or is coming out of an aircraft or a bus.
He'll go the extra mile to express his personality.

![]()
![]()
He can also handle himself when fighting but, there's another thing you can't help but notice.
![]()
That's right, Pezzetta is a member in good standing of the Follicular HOF all thanks to a spectacular flow.
![]()
![]()
The last time we had a Capillary Maven on the team, he used his flow in suave motions that produced airs of grandeur, which invited a breeze like the ones from a dramatic movie scene.
![]()
So all of it begs a couple of questions.
For one, is there such a thing as having too much flow? Someone should ask Marty ...
![]()
Let's take another look at that whipping hair that slapped Marty in the face, but in slo-mo.
![]()
Essentially, why go with the flow when you can go with the overflow.
Which brings us to our second question. Who flaunted it best?
![]()
And finally, the Rags. They'll be in the playoffs, they made a couple of big name acquisitions at the trading deadline (what else is new) and they're likely to get bounced yet again in the post-season.
For now, let's see how they hold up against the onslaught of no-quit buzz saws from a decimated team.
LINEUPS TBA

More talent and grit for sure.Geez. The Hockey Ops department has a better chance to help the Habs climb back into a playoff spot than their actual line-up.
By the way, where are Slaf and Evans ?The kid genuinely loves the game so much. It must really suck for him to have to miss so much time.
Has it ever occurred to you that it's the players themselves asking and begging to be put back in over "they just threw him back out there I can't believe the negligence!" ..?All the lols.
Look it just seems suspicious to me that Guhle was clearly thrown back in while still injured last time, then had to miss time, and now he's being thrown in straight from non contact to playing.
And yeah, I absolutely believe that injuries on the rest of the roster puts extra pressure on others to play through injury.
Has it ever occurred to you that it's the players themselves asking and begging to be put back in over "they just threw him back out there I can't believe the negligence!" ..?
They dont just throw you out there because "we don't have dough bodies so tough, injury or no injury you're playing"
If the guy can't go then he doesn't GO, you call someone up or you play 5 D
But they're not just grabbing guhle in an arm sling and forcing him to play like..
If the kid is playing, it's because he told THEM "skip, I can go tonight if you need me"
I think that. 3 years in a row of absolutely terrible injury streaks supports that. Players coming back sooner than they should... possibly not well conditioned... I don't know. Where there is smoke... there is fire. And there is smoke.Yeah.. doesn't work that way lol
People really think our medical staff is just straight up up to NO good eh?? Lol wow
Cole ain't the only one:
5-2 Habs. It's won't even be close.Would like the lines to be;
RHP - Suzuki - Anderson
Ylonen - Drouin - Gurianov
Hoffman - Tierney - Pitlick
Pezzetta - Belzile - Richard
Matheson - Savard
Edmundson - Kovacevic
Guhle - Wideman
Montembeault
Allen
I have no idea how we keep picking up points with this lineup. Almost came back to beat Vegas. Took Carolina to a shootout. Only team that slapped us down recently was f***ing Anaheim.![]()
Yeah that's an entirely different can of worms lolI dont want to argue, but no, I dont think it should be up to the players. It can't be, it needs to be up to medical staff and the hockey ops people together.
Players will almost always want to risk it, it's up to the staff to reign them in.
Anyways, back to game talk.
Incase anyone is wonder Kovacevic says he and his teammates want to play for the fans.View attachment 665869
Veut faire qqc pout les partisans? Perd chaque de t'games, s'ti!!! Tabar....!
I'm not too worrted about Guhle he did finish the game he got hurt in and there is no possible way they would play him if he wasn't fit.Barron and Harris out, better throw Guhle in whether he's ready or not![]()
I just hope Guhle is really 100% healthy.
Maybe he has Briar Diarrhea...we have an amazing medical/training staff, trust them and the process sir.
Where is Dach anyways? I thought he had the poopies and he's been gone for 3 weeks?
