Jesus just win, by whatever means necessary.

Let's revisit Money Pucks odds again next week, lose tonight and have a poor road trip and you will see completely different odds when Boston shows up here next week

I think this highlights one of the mistakes people make regarding playoff odds and standings watching. People watch their team in a bubble and don't really pay attention to what the chasing teams are up to. Yes, there might be a couple points gained here or there but there are also nights where it goes the other way and it's very hard to make up 6 points with less than 20 to go in the season.

I hope Bones has the team ready. Cute seam passes won't be available against a hard trap. Tonight will be about dump and chase and finishing off checks. Nothing helps break down a trap more then pounding their D in the corners when they go back to retrieve knowing a hard hit is coming. Go get them boys.

Ugh I miss Bryan Little, his true grit and heart he played with.

Yep he was much underrated for too long.

Seems weird to describe a guy with so much skill as "not flashy," but he was a model of the player who does all the small stuff so well that his work often goes unnoticed. Consistently excellent lower-event all-rounder with a nice snipe.

IMO It's the Littles, not Shut-up Sawyer's "Big-bodied 4th-line Hero a da Week," who can "take care of the details," put up clutch points, and thereby actually lead a team.

That's yer true 200-foot guy right there.

Much like having a short stack in a poker tournament, the value of having that ticket to the dance is far more than it appears to be. LA winning from the 8th seed / 15th overall? Anything's possible. If Hellebuyck is at the top of his game and high-rolls for a stretch? Why not.

What's the alternative -- wait until you're a huge lock to win the cup before you hope they win? That's never gonna happen. Every single team, every year, is almost certainly not going to win the cup. Even a prohibitive favorite like Boston is only getting like +400.

There's still a fifth of the season to go and everything to play for. It's just getting interesting.

Or to paraphrase Grand Moff Tarkin: "Tank now? In our moment of triumph? You appear to overestimate their chances!"

PS another amazing thread @macmaroon
I Dont think Grand Moff Tarkin said "Tank now?

The way Pierre Luc plays is not sustainable to keep him on the ice, he has slowed down in the back half and now injuries are holding him back

Is this one the real test? Time to play for real? Cuz it's been feeling like last March again in terms of outcomes.

I'm at the game again tonight and have 4 more yet to attend. I'm not having fun anymore.
You will tonight.:thumbu:
