bonehead sucker punch from nolan...shouldn't be doing that stuff, i'm sure sutter will drill him..i say he gets 1-2 games.

I was surprised that Nolan saw another shift last night. I was even more surprised that Eakins didn't put Gazic (sorry don't want to look up how to spell it) in after him.

I bet he doesn't even get a phone call.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sutter didn't mind what Nolan did at all. As I said it was the right message, sent at the right time, by the right player. You guys act like he cold-cocked the guy. He gave him a good stiff jab while wearing his glove.

1 he is getting a phone call
2 he did cold **** the guy.

Well he has a hearing, so there is a phone call

I think it will be a fine or 1 game .

It was a cheap shot plain and simple. I'm not mad at him for doing it.

We must have different definitions. Nolan didn't even come close to knocking the guy cold.

Well, looks like he will get a game or two. Still don't have any problem with what he did after what the Oiler player did.

He's been fined before, it will be a suspension. Doesn't matter whether the joensuu was pushing it or not, that type of **** shouldn't be in this game.

agreed, if Nolan would have hit him at the start of the scrum than whatever, but to wait till it had died down and the linesmen had things settled was ditty.
Anyway I hope it is not more than 2 games. If he is suspended that it should just be tonight's game.

Wow, visiting the mainboards is like watching a Pejorative Slur hump a doorknob. Every three or four posts is something along the lines of calling "Nolan dirty," and "no surprise there," etc. Yet, no one provides any evidence of fact or examples. Just a blatant fact-less *****-fest.

I can see why some people go full on troll on the mainboards. People there are ridiculous.

Like I said, we've had this 'dirty' label without doing anything dirty, so I'm glad we're finally living up to it.

What Nolan did was unquestionably dirty, but when a plug hits your world-class defenseman over your world-class goalie for no reason then reaches for your fun in the scrum, well, at least he picked a good time. He's got his call right now and will likely get the max fine and a game or two, but if the guy is supposed to be a deterrent and play on the edge, well, that's exactly what he did. Not mad at Nolan at all. I wish Clifford played with less honor too, for that matter; both those guys were too nice and respectful.

The word classless has become so played out on this site it's ridiculous. Ference giving Montreal fans the finger is classless. Nolan's punch was irresponsible at best. To be honest, I love that the Kings won't take any **** from anyone. I'm glad Nolan defended Doughty and Quick. Wish he would have waited until they were playing and created a huge hit (like when he destroyed Harrold), but whatever, hindsight is 20/20. I do think it's funny how uneducated most are on this site. Like extremely uneducated. They act like they've never seen a player punch another player (with their glove on mind you). Perhaps they should watch another sport like figure skating or golf. Take note of the fans calling him classless though -

Blues - a team all of us know quite well. They love after the whistle activities. From Stewart telling everyone to be quiet to Backes throwing a hissy fit whenever the Blues are trailing, St. Louis plays the Kings game. Minus the playoff success.

Canucks - the most amusing of the bunch. I recall more than a few Canuck fans calling the Kings the dirtiest team in the league. Those are amusing words from a fan base that supports a team that bites fingers, pulls hair, makes cocaine references during a game, and has employed characters such as Alex Burrows, Tom Sestito, Todd Bertuzzi, Matt Cooke, Raffi Torres, Zack Kassian, and Dale Weise. Not to mention their coach went to the opposing team's locker room and initiated a fight.

Ducks - the Ducks are professionals at the after whistle activities. I joke about Perry's nut spearing streaks, but I've seen him do it plenty of times. This is also the same fan base that says Pronger was a clean player. Enough said.

Coyotes - still living in May 2012. What can you expect from fans that support a team led by that mouth breather Shane Doan? To be honest, the only reason I even pay any attention to the Coyotes is because they're in the Kings division.

Sharks - they employ a player who has been suspended a total of 33 games, is regarded as one of the dirtier players in the NHL, and who also dressed as a blackface for Halloween. The same posters are constantly flooding any Kings related thread.

Just to add to this part, I think it's funny that the only surviving long-term remembrance of that series seems to be the Brown non-incident. How many Coyotes got kicked out of that series/got in dirty plays/started a handshake-line fight? Hanzal on Brown, Smith on Brown, Doan on Lewis...the list goes on. I can't imagine what would happen around here if Quick hit Burrows like Smith hit Brown, if Richards hit Oshie like Hanzal hit Brown, if Carter hit Wingels like Doan hit Lewis.

I will say I'm glad our fanbase doesn't usually start threads on borderline incidents, but it's like that is getting rubbed in our faces because it makes it look like dirty plays never happen to the Kings. That being said though, again, I'd recommend staying away from the general board if you can't handle logical fallacies and groupthinks (and the consistent driveby "another dirty play by x, what do you expect by a team captained by Dustin Brown"--obligatory copy-and-paste in any Kings related thread), because you're gonna have a bad time. I'd prefer we stay out of there completely and not make Kings fans look bad by participating with some of the nonsense, but eh, it is what it is.

I remember everyone saying Brown dove after that slash by Mike Smith. He's a ****ing flopping clown. After Brown's hit, didn't Mike Smith say post-game that he could have ended Rozsival's career?

Upper thigh bruise.

Torres was brutal in that series too was he not?
I think our likely destined first round match up against San Jose should be physical. you have last years playoff matchup, brown vs Heartl, and torres.

IIRC Torres was suspended for KO'ing Hossa that series.

But agreed--our SJ matchup looks to escalate the rivalry. We also play them IN SJ on April 3rd, game #78 if I'm counting correctly--nice preview :)

if the Nolan punch in question was the scrum he had reason. they showed the video during the game. the EDM player looked like he reached for his junk while everything was going on. Jordan wasn't really doing anything and then suddenly went ballistic on the dude for good reason.

not sure if it was the same scrum. i didn't catch the entire game

Saw this as well.
