I agree with BSP I just think he has it backwards. NBA should go to the NHL rules. Imagine how iconic "The Shot" would have been if Ehlo's defence kept Jordan to the outside and he got a late shot off that didn't count. Games over, clock hit zero why are we adding make believe time? Is the game 48 minutes or is it 48 mintues and 2 seconds?
As a big NBA and Laker's fan, please no. Sounds awful lol.

I'd be comfortable with Forsberg getting the start. He's given the team a chance to win for most of his starts lately. The one game where he looked ass (against TBL), the whole team sucked.
Uh, the whole team other than Ullmark sucked last night. So . . .

Lol. Their celebration was hilarious. Like, I had zero doubt whatsoever, that the horn had gone. How could they actually believe that thing went in on time, especially the guy that shot it. Seemed more like they just wanted to will it in to reality.
The Detroit players helmuts blocked the buzzer sound? LOL.

Hard to believe there’s so much discussion on this. We won. Yay, GSG.

It's funny, because everybody but you seems to understand how bad an idea this is. Maybe that should make you take pause, not that it seems to have in the past when you've had crazy ideas you felt compelled to post.

Your idea creates a situation where players are incentivized to continue playing after the whistle goes, that's not the type of behaviour you want to encourage,

More cameras is not really a reasonable answer here, and it's only being proposed because you want to impose a rule change that doesn't solve an actual problem.

You seem incredibly stuck on defending this idea to the death, but it's death happened long ago, I won't keep beating the dead horse, it's one of the dumbest ideas I've seen posted here, and that's a damn high bar since there have been some doozys,
Speaking of rule changes, I would like to see the following changes:
1. Players have to serve the entire length of the penalty imposed no matter if goals are scored during that time period.
2. A penalty called by the ref must be served no matter if the other team scores a goal before the penalty is imposed.

Other fun possibilities:
1- icing rule still enforced on the team playing short-handed; I don't even know why they're making an exception here.
2- (more controversial) no off-side for the team on the PP.

While I could see those rules being adopted simply for the purposes of increasing the score, I'm not sure they're necessarily a good idea. Those changes may cause the refs to not call as many penalties because the penalty for minor infractions like a bit of clutching and grabbing, would be seen as so disproportionate. With the two rules you stated it would make the chances of scoring a goal so high it might sort of create a "punishment doesn't fit the crime" effect and cause refs to not want to call penalties on more minor infractions if they feel like they'd basically be gifting the other team a goal because of it.

True; conversely it might act as a disincentive to commit infractions and might lead to a more fluid game.

That's true, there are pros and cons to both. I just fear that it might lead to penalties becoming more controversial as well. Think of that high stick from late last game where, I forget which one of our guys did it, but his stick literally got caught in the Wings player's glove and caught him in the face because of it. That was a completely fluky high stick that wasn't really our guys fault but he got a penalty for it. If a power play is so advantageous for the team on it, that a goal is extremely likely, we'd be pretty pissed about bad or fluky calls

I think I see it now. The only button is "Watch Live", but when I backed out of the stream I'd already started and clicked it again, it gave me 2 options of Watch Live or Resume, so resume should work.
For future reference, create your free trial account earlier in the day, then add the hockey game to your watchlist. When you want to start watching the game, don't select it from the main page, go to your watchlist and select it from there. You'll then have the options to watch Live, Resume or From the beginning. That's what I did when I started watching an hour after game time.
