We need a regulation win. Flames are a hard working group. Let's hope they have the long road jitters in their 1st home game back.

Montreal moved up to 10th tonight with Detroit's loss. One point out; however Ottawa and NYR play at 12:30 pm tomorrow, so someone is getting 2 points, which means we'll be 2 points out by game start.

One small correction the Habs will be 3 points out by the start of the game

No, only 2 points because the winner of that game jumps Columbus into WC1. Columbus has 68 pts and isn't playing Saturday.

Columbus will fall into WC2 or 9th depending on who wins & whether or not it's a 3 point game.

Montreal is at 66 points, so they will be 2 points from WC2's 68. They'll need 3 points to pass, though.

Calgary has a decent home record. It's gonna be tough as it usually is.

I looked at the standings, and it looks like there is no path to be holding down a playoff spot by the end of the night.

The best to hope for is a regulation game between nyr and Ottawa... no matter who wins.

Then a montreal win puts them tied with Columbus but Columbus would have a game in hand. The good news is that the habs seem to hold the actual tiebreaker against cbj, but its the game in hand that technically puts the blue jackets ahead.

Actually if Habs win Calgary in regulation, they will pass Columbus, both will be 68 pts and 22 in RW, but Habs have more ROW.
