Just like Bedard, he needs to find out what he can get away with in the NHL.....it could be unpleasant to the eye, but its just sticking the toe in the water.....not holding a hot iron to him like poor KK last year.
Korchinski was just so young and weak he got caved in. Levshunov won't, he's going to make some decisions that will make you scratch your head. Like, decisions you've never seen a defensemen make lol.

He absolutely isnt ready. But he needs to learn what he needs to work on to master this level. He does it at every level he's jumped. He has a "Yikes" era at the beginning and then he dominates. He doesn't "develop" he just adjusts his game because he's talented enough already to be elite in the NHL, needs to mess up alot over the last 20 to figure it out. He will be a tank commander and this board is gonna have a freak out about it.
Agreed on his adjustments. I guess I'm worried about him getting eaten alive and that messing with his confidence, throwing him in against Colorado will be a hell of a debut. Nervously excited

I would 100% have been worried about his confidence if they had done to him what they did to Korchinski. Leaving him up an entire year just to get overwhelmed and caved in most nights. However, getting a few games in -- even if they go poorly -- will be more eye-opening than confidence destroying at this point in the season IMO.

Keeping Korchinski for 9 games, or even 20 and then sending him back was always the play. It's a real shame they rushed him. Hopefully he'll rebound at some point.

Why? There are 20 games left, let him get a little taste of the nhl. Basically giving him a 9 game trial but at the tail end of the year. If he looks good, let him stay up and but. The first year of the elc. If not, he goes back down for ahl playoffs.

I’d have just let him for the first time since he was like 14 play a full year in the same league.

Then next year if he earns a few games at the NHL level let him play there then. If not, he gets a taste, then goes back to Rockford to work on his game.

It's good to reward him, and allow him to get the feel for the NHL pace and game.

Can't imagine he will stay up for more than a few games, although if he does that would be huge.

Excited for his debut :)

He's played an entire year in the same league in each of the last 3 seasons. He hasn't played consecutive years at the same level in a while.

Thought he would have to wait until end of year for a game or two

Hopefully he thrives with chance and never goes back to Rockford

But my realistic expectation is a few games as a reward for his recent play in Rockford giving him NHL taste

Does this count as his first year of his ELC regardless? Does something change after X games played in the NHL?

I also think he'll get 6-8 games. It'll be a window before it's time to give Rinzel those minutes when he can sign. I don't think a player's confidence can shatter in only a handful of games. I like it.
That's a good point. Get Lev some games now to experience the NHL game, especially with him missing preseason, before Rinzel takes up that open RHD spot after he signs. Both guys get some NHL experience now.

And with Jones gone, you could slot them in to one of the PP units, a role they both could excel at long term given their talents.

Excited to see how he does. Looking mainly for consistent effort shift to shift and to see whether playing against the best in the world pushes him to really bring it
