I'm asking to the experts here what are Flames today. My image of the Flames is a team that misses the playoffs often by a small margin. They are a team who works hard, it's been their identity for decades like the Bruins except they are always missing the top talent, the Pastrnak-Bergeron-McAvoy-Marchand of the Bruins. The best talent they had in memory was Monahan and a team like this is cursed, he was injured many times. Did they changed since? Am I missing a top talent that could be a game changer or this is a team that works hard every shift, every inch of rink, and they are unlucky, they don't make the playoffs.

Actually if Habs win Calgary in regulation, they will pass Columbus, both will be 68 pts and 22 in RW, but Habs have more ROW.

Montreal will have played one more game, though. They can't pass just tie, and CBJ will have a game in hand.

Columbus plays tomorrow @ NYR.

Ideally, we want NYR to win both games today & tomorrow in regulation.

If NYR do that then Montreal will jump Ottawa with a win tonight in Calgary but will be in 9th. Columbus ahead on points percentage.

If NYR then beat Columbus tomorrow, it'll flip due to Montreal's ROWs. Montreal will hold WC2. Columbus tied but in 9th. Ottawa 10th.

However, if Ottawa picks up a point today, they keep WC2 over Montreal & CBJ based off points percentage (played one less) and they have more RWs, too.

NYR should be motivated because they can close in on 3rd spot in Metro.

Hard to believe in January Ottawa had 3rd spot in Atlantic at one time & looked like they could even catch Florida. Now, they're 11 points back of Tampa Bay, who have de-mired themselves from WC mess.

Montreal needs to continue to rack up points even if it's just one again tonight.

They have a great goalie. Wolf is dragging his team to a playoff spot. They do have forward depth upfront & there's skill there just not high end skill. The D is also decent.

However, they're the worst offensive team in the league. They're 4th worse in face-offs. Their pk is bottom 10. Their PP is mid. Defensively, they're 13th overall.

But, they're top 10 in save percentage and that's due to Wolf. Basically, they're Montreal during the Theodore years.

They'll work hard, trap you & then have just enough skill to bury mistakes they create with the trap/forecheck. They grind. Therrien would love that team.

They beat us 3-2 in OT back in November in Montreal.

Laine listed as out tonight with an Illness.

Guhle listed as week to week.

I hope Laine is okay and that it's not serious, but assuming it isn't, then he just need one more illness this year for another hat trick.

The fact that guhle has been listed as week to week is great news. It means there's still hope for him to be back this year.

Laine listed as out tonight with an Illness, as per puckpedia.

Guhle listed as week to week.

Son of a bitch! I'm finally free to watch a game and no Laine tonight! 😡

No Laine sucks. I'd re-arrange things in a pinch

CC-Suzuki-Slaf
Heineman-Newhook-Anderson
Dvorak-Evans-Armia
Pezzetta-Beck-Gallagher
It isn't confirmed he isn't playing tonight he missed practice yesterday due to an illness. We will have to wait a few hours before we find out if he is in the lineup or not
