We have the tie breaker on NYR, MTL, and Detroit, so that effectively adds another point on to our buffer.

If we beat Detroit in regulation, that will be massive.

We have 2 games left against Detroit, 2 against Montreal, and 3 against Columbus. Those are all "4 point" games because we add 2 points and also take 2 points away.

Similar to how Tampa pulled away from us by winning those two straight games. If it was reversed and we won those two games, we'd be a point behind them instead of 9 points behind. The games against those three teams should all be looked at as possible play-in games for the playoffs.
Crazy thing is if we win all 3 against CBJ in regulation, even if we were to lose all 4 in regulation to the other two (Hopefully not), I still think we have a great buffer and a high probability to secure WC2.

I’ve had a lot of friends tear their ligaments playing soccer. Sometimes very low key plays lol. Non contact. Crazy.

A few times I was like “should I just stop playing “ lol.
Yeah, I wonder the same thing too sometimes. That's why I don't play men's league anymore. Just coed social leagues. But even then, my wife tore her ACL last summer non-contact (although we suspect a previous misdiagnosed injury was a factor), and 2 weeks ago I watched a guy tear his patellar tendon clear off crashing into the other team's goalie. It was absolutely horrible.

I just try to focus on playing hard, but avoiding as much contact as possible. I don't even go for headers anymore. That's why casual social leagues are the best. I'm too old for raging aggressive 20yr olds. Even if I can keep up with them, it's not worth the injury risk.

The level of play is still very very high. It's just that people are way chiller. We have a guy on our team that used to play semi-pro in Mexico. He's phenomenally good, but he still doesn't outright dominate. That's how good the players are. The league is most comprised of people in their 30's who just want to have fun a get a good workout in.

Solid game from Perron

Usual suspect at the bottom

BTW Did he comeback after hurting his knee?

Tough for a D to walk onto a team and first game play 7-11, not sure but I think he was playing his offside too (he was on that Panarin goal),

I didn't care much from what I saw from him, but I'll give him a mulligan.

Well I’m glad the stat of not being possible to win with 11 F and 7 D is now crushed.

In all seriousness, great comeback win and another character builder type game. Shesterkin was cruising right along. That is what you need to do with a goalie in the zone is keep going hard to the net and crash for rebounds. Glad to see a couple greasy net front goals off of rebounds.

Need to carry the momentum to Monday night and take advantage of the Red wings who are quite fragile right now.

Brady and the OT Man (with apologies to Travelling Willburys and The Headstones Tweeter and the Monkey Man) . Some metering issues, but who cares, we won!

Brady was a scrapper on the hometown ice,
Rangers had ‘em down, man, it wasn’t lookin’ nice.
Fighting back from 3 to 1, the boys are showin' flow,
Timmy Stützle whispered, “Boys, it’s time to go.”
Chorus:
Brady and the OT Man, drivin’ down the ice,
Rangers couldn’t hold the line, runnin’ round like mice.
Timmy skated wide, bought himself a little time,
Brady found the gap, get the celebration wine.

The 1st one was Korpisaloesque ... the 2nd one 50/50 .. the 3rd one was a beauty goal
He made a couple big saves to keep the score in reach.

spotted another lead they boys had to come back from and did. I'd prefer not doing the 1st part.
1st goal is the only one I take issue with, he made the big saves to keep us in it so all is forgiven, but we need to stop spotting them a goal every game...

I also think people need to have realistic expectations.

There aren't 224 great NHL defensemen. He is a 10 minute a night player brought in to add some grit and be a deterrent for some of the behaviour that other teams felt we were too soft to prevent (Hartman on Stutzle, etc).

He is going to probably look bad at times if he ends up out there against Panarin types.

I still unfortunately play against the 20 years olds. And each generation gets better and better at the sport as it gains popularity.

We were waaaaay better and more competitive than the older guys we played against coming out of u18.

And the 19 20 years olds now are waaay better than us

Green has blinders on for Hamonic and Gaudette ... If these guys were just called up they'd be sent down immediately.

When Cousins comes back there is a slim chance Gaudette gets pushed to the press box but.. slim

Hamonic .. Matinpalo could stop McDavid 3 times one on one and score the game winner and he'd still sit for Hamonic

I out my heel in a pothole while jogging behind the play in a soccer game. Total fluke accident!

Yeah, that's fair, I think he's probably our 7th D when everyone's healthy, but maybe Green disagrees...
I do hope when we go back to playing with 6 D, it will be Kleven and Matinpalo, wishful thinking I guess...
