I would feel better about how this team is constructed if NHL refs actually called playoff games the same way they call the regular season but I'm old enough to know the truth. We're going to clutched, grabbed and bullied into oblivion and the odd power play the refs allow so it doesn't look completely ridiculous isn't going to be enough.

That’s the most frustrating thing about this team. We never really LOOK good. But we still win. We play like we’re drunk or uninterested for 45 minutes and then find urgency for the final 15 and come away with a win. We start with jump, go to sleep for 30 minutes and then make a push in the final 10. I get it. We still win and win. We’re 6th in the NHL. We’re on a back to back playing with 16 skaters and two of our top-4D missing, and Kane has never played/practiced with the team. Im not saying we’re not insanely frustrating, we’re just not as bad as our GDT overreactions always claim.
of course we're not a bad team. But with all these moves its cup or bust, the bar has been raised.

Ah, missed the context in terms of it being about the kids. Thought you were talking about the team as a whole.

Yeah, I'll give you that. Amazing how surefire top line power forward prospects in Lafreniere and Kakko look like Bambi on ice with no plus tools at this level at all despite literally looking like world beaters before putting on a Rangers jersey.
As far as the team goes, they have to play pond hockey to score because they have a terrible puck-moving defense corps and two 4th lines.
