I guess the coaching staff must be seeing the same flaws in his game as most of us critics of him as well. Just look at his dwindling ice time:

But coach's never make any mistakes, right? They must know something we don't. So explain to my why they're cutting down on his minutes and why they're actually slowly removing him away from tough matches. Gee, could it be because they realized how he gets outmatched against tougher opposition? Nah, surely it can't be that, because we don't know what we're talking about.
You'd have to be pretty thick not to realize how flawed this guys game is and how he isn't showing any signs of improvement when it comes to making quick decisions and playing under pressure. I understand why the coaching staff keeps playing him though because the Kings really aren't that deep on the blueline and have no better options in Manchester. The Kings' supposed luxury of riches on the blueline took a hit when Scuderi and Hickey departed with nobody being brought in to replace them.
Regehr, Mitchell and Greene don't have the foot speed to play catch up, and Muzzin doesn't have the brains to play catch up. Martinez can be physically outmatched but he's a better thinker on the ice. Voynov has to be better and Muzzin needs the Wizard of Oz to grant him some hockey sense. It's his play away from the puck that scares most of us, and judging by his reduced ice time, it's also a concern for the coaching staff.
