My lord, the Atlantic is absurdly tight. 6 points between 1st and 5th, and MTL in freefall.
Thank god the Bruins got hot when Florida finally did, otherwise we'd be toast.

Hell baby
I like Moore, but I just think that the B's have too many young talented bigger faster guys knocking on the door to bring him back next season.

Agreed, i see one of Kuraly or even Cave going for a spot on the 4th line next year

Moore has been terrific for what he is though- I won't be unhappy if he is brought back

today's nhl is a crap shoot. Bruins should have won in Anaheim vs the ducks and
should have lost vs the kings. If L.A. scores on the numerous chances in the first period that they had the game would have been there's very easily. Bruins hang around and got a lot of puck luck last night, which they didn't get the night before. Thought they played a lot better in Anaheim then they did in L.A.

Until the Bruins scored, the Kings had three prime scoring chances. But the Bruins had a lot of great scoring chances in that period too. Second period was more or less even. And in the third they pretty much dominated (Kings had a great chance to tie it but had one shot on goal in the first 15 minutes of that period?). Kings hit a lot of posts and got quite a few free scoring chances from defensive breakdowns and poor rebound control. But the Bruins had a goal disallowed. Based on the play from both teams I think the Bruins maybe "should" have lost this one in OT, and probably won the Ducks game at least in OT. So we still "lost" a point with that in mind, and easily could've come away with all of them.

Cassidy showed he had faith in Dobby, something I am not sure Claude had anymore.

Can you blame him? He hasn't played very well. If he had played like last night from the get-go, he'd have much more faith in him. I hope it continues under whatever coach. We need a trustworthy backup more than we need a D upgrade, imo.

Bit of a vicious cycle though. Player doesn't do well, coach doesn't trust player, player gets less playing time, because of less time doesn't improve, coach doesn't trust player, and so forth.

Trying to spin wool from hay. While true that he lost the coach's faith due to his very poor play, he wasn't exactly idled. He was sent to Providence. Remember, ALL of the backups were playing like crap and all needed some degree of rehabbing. That was a huge task given someone needed to backup Rask while the other two got time playing in Providence. And not a little; a lot!

So yeah, they all suffered some, including Rask. But not due to ill-will or some kind of malfeasance. It was a perfect storm of one competent NHL goalie out of four. Hopefully the team is out of the woods with the goalie situation but that remains to be seen.

Well, sure, but I'm not sure if that logic holds as much for goalies. It's not like they can improve from shift to shift - they're either in the game or not. And it's not like Doby is a rookie. You need to have faith in your backup that they can at least hold you in the game. None of the Bruins backups did that consistently enough this season.

I'd say the faith follows from the goalies that show they can be depended on. Hopefully Doby is building that.
