The Bruins are now 5-1 under the guy who's not as good as Julien.

And this is against some pretty good teams and a western road trip
that usually destroys us...

Keep it up boys!

That's what makes me optimistic that the Bruins can continue to play well , they have just defeated some pretty good teams and if they maintain the same intensity SHOULD be able to get points playing some weaker competition.

I'm embarrassed to admit I fell asleep with 8 minutes left last night. 4am comes quick and I have been horribly spoiled by having the majority of B's games over by 7:30pm allowing me to stick with my usual bed time of 9:30 easily. Nope, couldn't even hang two nights in a row to 10:30pm. It's pathetic getting old LOL Was nice to wake up to the hubby calling me a horrible Bruins fan and that at least he was still awake when the boys finished off the game. Hmph. One thing is for certain with the coaching change - win or lose, this team is fun to watch every game. I like it.

Anyway, glad Dobby finally had a good game God knows he & the Bruins needed one.

On to Dallas!!

Cassidy showed he had faith in Dobby, something I am not sure Claude had anymore.

Getting 4 points in California was huge and right now the team is relaxed. I am beginning to think a first round matchup with Poutineville is in the cards and wouldn't that be fun. :handclap:

Imagine this team with the likes of Beleskey & Hayes upgraded.

Replace Hayes with Czarnik and Beleskey with someone acquired via trade....we are scary on offense. Hell, even if Beleskey starts playing like he played last year we would be much improved.

Still need some improvement on D though.

Still a tiny sample size (3 games,) but Khudobin's career numbers vs Kings now improved to 1.49GAA; .950 Sv%.

Claude was going on three straight years without the playoffs. I understand that some people want to exclusively define him by the successful years, but I had grown tired of the last two and a half. Whatever the issue with Claude was, I am willing to call that after six games, there is a very positive and easily viewed difference with this team. This whole "knives come out" theory kind of sidesteps the fact that this wasn't just a 10 or 20 game struggle. There had been disappointment after disappointment for years now. It certainly can't all be linked to Claude. But, all signs after two weeks point to that some of it can be.

My opinion is that Claude had developed some weird "immunity" with a certain section of the fanbase. Cam was bad, the roster was bad, Sweeney was bad, Jeremy Jacobs was bad, Charlie Jacobs was bad, etc. But somehow, because Claude won a Cup years ago...and was an extremely effective coach with a very good roster for a time...you can't let him go.

If one thing is apparent with Cassidy's system, it's that the team isn't exactly bonedry on skill, which was probably the #1 identified issue by the most loyal of Julien supporters. I've listened to other announcers (Randy Hahn, Brian Heyward, etc.) that have been very impressed with the jump, speed, and skill of the Bruins as a whole in these last half dozen games.

I don't understand the urgency and need to defend Claude. So far, things are going pretty well without him. And it's not just a "lucky 5-1". It's a team playing a noticeably different pace and style and it's paying off. Whenever it becomes apparent that keeping Claude would have been the better option, I'll acknowledge it. But, until then, Claude and his boring system can stay put in Montreal.

All this shows one thing: just win baby.

Not gonna happen with Beleskey this year. He is toast. Needs a whole offseason to train. I believe he came into the season a little out of shape, then the knee injury just crushed him. I was watching him without the puck, he wasn't moving very hard or well.

It would be great to get him going, but don't think it's going to happen in-season.

I still don't agree with the off side challenge on the pasta goal. He had control of the puck, therefore you're allowed to enter the zone before the puck. How is that off side?

It probably looked good enough to the linesman in real time, because he gained control over the puck just after his back foot crossed the line (helped along by a Kings player as well, for that matter). However, in super slo-mo, it's easy to overturn situations that seem onside in real time. No excuses for the coach's challenge, it's a failure.

That only applies if you have control of the puck BEFORE you enter the zone, he was inside the zone and then got control of the puck. I think the linesman thought that the Kings player brought the puck into the zone.

Huge to get a win by Dobby. If he gets his confidence going, that can be huge for this team and Rask's mental health.

Great jobs by Krejci, Marchand, Celery and Pasta.

Celery - Crunchee - Pasta ?

Great to see that both Marchy and Pasta will likely hit 30+ goals this season.

Solid veteran play by DoMo to get the EN.

I faded fast last night but saw Brad's goal.

I live that Dobby played well.

I hope the B's sign Moore for another year.

I like Moore, but I just think that the B's have too many young talented bigger faster guys knocking on the door to bring him back next season.

today's nhl is a crap shoot. Bruins should have won in Anaheim vs the ducks and
should have lost vs the kings. If L.A. scores on the numerous chances in the first period that they had the game would have been there's very easily. Bruins hang around and got a lot of puck luck last night, which they didn't get the night before. Thought they played a lot better in Anaheim then they did in L.A.
