I have never seen a team acquire a new player, especially a full time NHL regular, and not play them right away.

However, this IS the Rangers we are talking about so any dumbass idea is not outside the realm of possibility.
Theres been trades before the game between teams and they both would play.

That makes zero sense. Whether it happens today or Saturday, everyone knows it's going to happen. He wasn't brought here to play in the AHL.

The players aren't going to be surprised when a UFA who was traded for at the deadline.... *gasp*.... plays hockey on the team.
It absolutely makes sense, just maybe not in your head. Let me rephrase then.
Amongst the team, surely they KNOW that he will be in there eventually REPLACING someone. To be playing w/o a practice may be no big deal for Vatrano, but whomever sits, they will be looking in the mirror and saying something like; "wow, dude didn't even have one practice, and he is replacing me".

new teamates, no time to get aquainted or practice, you want your new guy to feel comfortable with his teamates before going to war.
Remember when both Brassard and Clowe debuted the day they were traded to us and both had multi point games?

Can I help?

7. We got a lot of looks and the game was closer than it seemed.
8. You have to hand it to them, the other team played well.
9. We took too many penalties and it ruined our momentum.
10. I thought we played well in the third.
11. We've got to get more traffic in front of the net.
Yeah and the funny thing is this team is 38-17-5 and sitting but 6 pts. behind Carolina in the toughest division in the league DESPITE all of the above being stated many more times than it chould considering the record.
Just imagine what all those other teams may be saying.......those above and at least another 12 excuses.

That game was so vivid to me, there was so much talk about them not being there in time and then they showed up during warmups apparently.

Brassard had 4 points (1g, 3a)
Clowe had 3 points (2g, 1a)
Moore had 1 point (1g)

Clowe scored 2 goals in that game after not scoring at all that season when we acquired him.

Right there with you and others that this was one of the most memorable games I've ever seen lol. I remember so many details about that game. I might've watched the highlights of it 100 times that summer.

Part of why it was so great was the Penguins were kicking the crap out of us that season and we had lost like 6 in a row to them over two seasons. Good times.

I'm embarrassed to share a team with anybody who participates in Potvin Sucks tonight
I would hope that the fans would have enough class not to do it tonight, but all it takes is one drunken idiot, and then all the other drunken idiots will follow along.

Eh, a lot of casuals probably have no idea his brother died. I didn’t even know until I googled it after your post, and we are more dedicated fans than the vast majority of people in the crowd
They should know if they're gonna be there. Your home ground should be a temple for (mostly) those who treat the club as a way of life. MSG has become very much the opposite.

With Manhattan being what it is there's no way to change that, unfortunately. We get more die hards at away games at times.
