Edit: We actually hold this record. 30 OT games for the B's in 03-04. We are currently at 21 tied with the Isles for most this season. That's on pace for 29.2 games, so there is a decent shot at it.

Funny I remember that year when I was a young teenager. I read your first paragraph and my initial thought was "I think they got a shitload of ties one year when I was a kid."
