Hall's coming off a massive knee injury, he's the definition of damaged goods. Also Foligno played a handful of games for us with no problems, he could have been fully healthy and taken an unlucky hit. I'm sure nobody is 100% by the time the deadline rolls around, but there was nothing to suggest that he was seriously injured at the time we got him.
You are more optimistic than I, neither were playing for CBJ when they were acquired. Seems like a bit of a roll of the dice tbh, but hey, I am just a fan.

I have been waiting a long time for the Leafs to shut up all the haters claiming another first round knock out awaits. Still nervous but hopefully we will be celebrating the death of the thousand pound monkey on their backs in a mere six hours. Leafs got this. Mathews with two. Let’s go.
12 pk Corona with limes - check. Inch and a half thick ribeye, baby golden taters and baked beans - check. Vodka if they blow it again - Check. lol

Not going to lie. Some of you here on HF Boards are petty, insecure little jerks ;)

But you are my jerks.

We are jerks together.

Tonight could be the first time since 1967 that we beat the friggin' Habs in a series AND the first time in 17 seasons that we make it past round one.

Some of you weren't walking in 1992-93 to experience the hope of a team you loved getting so close. I can tell you that these were the amongst the best hockey days of my life.

Crack a beer (if you are of age). Spark one up (if you got curbside pickup). Settle in for the ride and pull for these guys in blue and white as if it was one of the only chances we have to succeed.

As much as we disagree, I'd sooner argue about ways to get the Cup with you than spend a minute cheering for another team.

Go Leafs Go!

Enjoy the game!!

Shouldn't you be on the Sportsnet boards with Pookie news updates for your minions? hehe

Pretty excited, having some real fan noise in a building, man that will be refreshing even if muted by numbers. Suspect it gets our juices going as well.

He'll likely be fired if they lose this series (but again, I think the leafs win tonight). Most new gm's come in to start a rebuild/retool. They don't usually inherit a 100 year storied franchise full of young stars that the year prior got their record for points in a season. We were supposed to be cup contenders year 1 of Dubas. Not endless first round losses to "borderline" playoff teams.

And if a new gm with a team full of prime stars doesn't shatter that 105 points, he should also be fired... just trying to be consistent :sarcasm:

Have to handle their early momentum. They're gonna come out flying, playing as heavy as possible, making it congested, ugly and taking time away from everyone.

Have to be strong and ready to deal with that, don't be afraid to dump it in, hit some Montreal Dmen and cycle. Big game that will require taking a hit to make a play, particularly in the first period.

No, but he’s been given three years to even win one round. Two of the teams didn’t even belong in the playoffs. It’s a flat out disgrace if we lose this round and he most certainly should be fired.

But the point is moot. Because they’re winning tonight.

Disagree.

The process is important, no-one guarentee the result in sport. Follow the process and development comes along with it.

This is the closest this Hockey Club has been to being a real competitive team in a long time. You don't tear it up, you keep with it.

Dubas has a long leash. Love the way he's building this club.

Exactly, look at how many setbacks a guy like Ovi had.

then have second thoughts.
but that basically sums up my thing

either firmly believe they can win
or you have doubts that they can.

you can't firmly believe something yet have nagging doubts that they could lose.

Unfortunately we’re not the ones doing it so our confidence doesn’t really factor in.

The Leafs really are very thoughtful to bring the series back to Montreal so that the Habs can do the stick salute for the fans in attendance as we end their season.

Classy move boys, now bury these asshabs tonight!
