On my mobile so I can't see your join date but, are you new here?

That's the way this places rolls bro, spacegoats everywhere. Some people just have a physical need to ***** and complain about something all the time, you learn to deal with it

I like your enthusiasm though.

I actually don't think this roster is as good as it's record indicates. Having price is huge but he's part of the team so **** it

You're right. I love DLR.. but i'm not sure he'll ever score 15 goals in an NHL season.

I agree with you about him not scoring goals. But he is an asset defensively. And teams aren't built entirely around players that score.

Dunno about brutal. He just hasn't been out of this world good. I'd still say he's been one of the reasons we've even had a chance...in those bad games. He definitely could be better, for the whole 60 min or more, but I think some of the other guys have performed quite a lot worse.
No, brutal fits for me. Same as our Top-6 and Markov.

The reason it's not as bad is because Carey Price.

And the reason he always gives you a chance is because he's still a wizard with the puck. It's just that he's been more like a Harry Potter wizard rather than Gandalf these days. He's trying to do too much again.

You might be right about that. The point is, that our leaders and big names must take their responsibility and make this happen. To go out in the first round against OTT, would be borderline insulting to Carey Price, who has stood on his head for the Habs all season. Now it is time to repay him and go that extra mile.
Agreed. We need a big game from our Top-6. They've won us one game this series and that's it. They haven't even bothered showing up for the other 4 games.

I agree with you about him not scoring goals. But he is an asset defensively. And teams aren't built entirely around players that score.
Are you trying to say that Dackell wasn't good defensively? Dackell was a beast defensively. He was good along the boards and won a lot of puck battles. And his work ethic was through the roof.

Try watching other teams play hockey and you will see why we will struggle if we make it to the next round.

All the good teams have great puck movement, player movement, execute systems that create offense, and in these systems you see the players elevate because being allowed to be creative actually enhances performance.

Our team just flips the ****ing puck in and hopes they can recover it. Then throws to the net and hopes for a rebound they can never get to because in the play-offs you are allowed to interfere, hook and hold around the net.

Stupid.

Pretty sure you've never seen Dackell play hockey.

Pretty you sure, you are clueless as to my age. And DLR has some pretty crazy hands, Dackell well not so much. And DLR is a HUGE man who slams players around, Dackell yeah not so much.

DLR and Dackell are not similar players. Both Swedish and defensive focused, sure. But that's pretty much it. That's equivalent to saying Malhotra, Begin, Flynn, Mitchell are all similar players because they're North American and fourth liners.

Seriously. I do not understand.

- 2 years ago we won our division and had a norris trophy winner (1st Norris in how long? won division after being almost dead last year before)

- Last year - we made the ECF!!!! Also - we had a real strong chance of going further but lost Price to injury (yeah - Rangers played great, maybe we still lose, but maybe we win - Price is our best player)

This year now:

- President Trophy winners? Nope. We lost. But we're in 2nd place!!!!

- Division winner? Check

- Vezina winner? Check (1st time in a long time)

- Hart winner? Check (1st time in a long time - and Price should be a LOT better long-term than Theodore, who most expected to be a one-time deal). (also - I know he didn't win yet, but let's be serious Price will win)

- Norris contender? Check (I don't know that Subban wins, but he's in the race)

- Top 5 goal scorer in the NHL? Check (Pacioretty - top 5 goal scorer in the NHL past 3 years - when's the last time we can say this?)

Let's get to the important stuff that matters:

- Therrien - MASSIVE Winning record since joined as coach? CHECK

- 3-0 series lead against Ottawa in round 1? CHECK

- Would you (this is you Mr Reader) have been happy 1 week and a half ago if I told you Habs would hold a 3-2 lead over Ottawa heading into game 6? CHECK

- Projected round 2 - we either get Detroit (who we are better than) or Tampa (who is playing BAD these playoffs). Beatable opponents? CHECK

Are there *any* teams in the NHL who should be feeling as good about their team right now than the habs? Maybe Rangers? Anyone else? Yet every single post and every single thread on this forum is negative.

- Pacioretty sucks - not a leader
- Pacioretty can't play in the playoffs
- Desharnais is horrible
- Therrien is horrible
- We have no system
etc, etc.

Fellow Fans - HABS will win and go to round 2 tonight. We have a VERY LEGIT chance at the Cup this year. Quit with all the negativity and start cheering!

Thank You.

We're not a contender anymore. We were a contender, before Bergevin tried to improve the roster, but ended up making it worse and knocking us out of contention.

In this league of parity, you can't worsen your bottom six significantly without seriously affecting your ability to win.

Going from Bournival, Thomas, Sekac, and Andrighetto to DSP, Flynn, and Mitchell has been a disaster.

Our best lineup this year should have been:

Pacioretty Desharnais Sekac
Galchenyuk Plekanec Gallagher
Andrighetto Eller Weise
Bournival De La Rose/Mitchell Thomas

Prust can come in for one of the small young guys if we're playing a physical team. But the most successful teams in the playoffs will be the fast teams. Just wait and see.

Therrien really should be dressing Hudon tonight.

ANYTHING to try to add a little offense, no matter how little, is needed.

Parenteau is in for tonight! See Therrien did made changes!

He can't be as weak or slow as Parenteau. I don't see the problem in trying young guys out in the playoffs.

Tonight is the series. Whoever wins, wins the series.

Things have gotten magical for Ottawa again. We need to pull that horseshoe out of their ass and beat them over the head with it.
