Also Whitecloud is a helluva find by Vegas. Even their college free agent signings work out!

Neither of the loaded lines can stand up to pressure. Keller and Kessel seemed to be thrown out there against the Stone line which is insanity. They somehow kept them off the board, but generated almost nothing. Cags-Schmaltz-Garland were heavily out muscled this game. They aren't a match up problem unless you get them out against a team's worse players. We didn't try to do that.

You had two very good defensive lines in the bottom six, that even with the last change we seemed to be deploying against Vegas's bottom six all night. I don't know what they are doing, but it irritated me.

Top six isn't good enough to try that crap. Larsson should be taking the tough match ups, not facing of against Noesen.

Schmaltz-Dvo-Garland
Keller-Brassard-Pitlick
Cags-Hayton-Kessel
Crouse-Larsson-Fish/Hayden

Give the hard minutes to line four, somebody on the other three lines should be able to expose a weak matchup going the other way against most teams.

Was at both games so do not know how it looked on TV but Soderstrom looked solid. Nothing flashy but just a solid Dman.
Made so many little plays that just shut down potential threats in both games.

He might be the biggest plus out of these two games at home. Really looking forward to his future and hope he continues to get playing time.

Vegas came to play but we stayed with them. There is a reason coaches always say play until you hear the whistle, and as good as Chych is becoming, he has to not make simple mental mistakes, he'll learn from this.

Chick knew the Vegas player was behind him and all he had to do was go to the other side of the net and it would have been an easy icing call.

There is no way I move Schmaltz to the wing, not with the success he has been having.
He has sure surprised me. Hope he can keep on improving because once other team start to get more film on him they will adjust the way they play him.

We need another skill guy in the top six ... Edmonton has moved up Puljujarvi to the top line. Maybe if he flops he'll become available.

Icing is determined at the dots. Doesn’t matter which side of the goal you’re on. Chychrun said postgame he thought icing was going to called because he heard others on the ice yell it out but didn’t know it had been waved off by the officials.

Kinda expected to lose this one. It’s Vegas

I’ll take the blame for a loss on Tuesday against the ducks
You are not going to win many games having 16 shots. We were terrible in the dot leading the Yotes having terrible puck possession. If your fourth line is your best line you are in big trouble most games. Vegas had double the scoring chances and could have easily won much easier. The Yotes were not ready at the drop of the puck. Why I don't know.

I don't think the shot clock was really reflective of today's game.
I might be in the minority but I thought we took a step back from last game. DVO's line was god awful. 16 shots, 39%FOW, out chanced 2 to 1, terrible puck possession. Are we all happy because of the score? Are we thinking in our minds we stuck with a supposed SC contender? This team should have come out flying after last game, but I thought they were flat. Like last year, if not for Kuemper, we would not be talking about the missed icing call.

Tocc upset with Keller. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him bumped down.
Rightfully so. Kids butter soft and doesn’t engage physically at all. Floats and makes lazy ass plays.

Such a skilled kid but god damn he plays soft and relies solely on that skill

Same boat. Not sure what I’m missing but I didn’t think we looked as good as some are saying.

Still lack the #1 center to drive offense. With how Garland keeps getting better, imagine if he was playing with a true #1. That's why I thought we should make a huge offer for Dubois. Unfortunately, they got a lot better offer than Schmaltz and Hayton even if that was made. I don't think this group can produce consistent offense again good teams. Same problem, new year. At least they have been better and more fun to watch. I don't think anyone seriously expected anything more than that.
