We've had those challenges go against us for offsides that happened well before the goal.

Yup it’s the worst rule. We’ve been on the wrong end of it plenty of times too.


You should be able to challenge if it leads to a goal in the first 10 or so seconds. After that invalid.

I believe the NCAA rule is if the defending team touches/controls puck it negates the offside.
And it should. That goal Chicago thought they scored had nothing to do with the puck coming in a sesame seed offside. That goal was created by a boneheaded turnover by Charlie Coyle.

Like I said, if this was against the Bruins we would be flipping our shit.
