GDT: Game #59: Oilers @ Panthers - 5 PM - SN1

It will probably go to Hellebuyck this year... but I agree it should be Drai if it's a skater getting the award.
 
An acceptable baseline level of effort is there tonight - massive improvement on that basis alone.

Puck play is sloppy and the goalie is sloppy, but such is life with this team and Rome wasn’t built in a day.

We better turn the dial up in the third. Would be just like us to sleep walk into it and then be stunned when the other team turns it up a notch in a tie game.

The Jets are performing much better as an overall team. Drai gets absolutely nothing for support outside of some stretches with a very watered down McDavid from his usual level.
 
Drai with the heroic Frank Mahovlich goal there just creating from nothing bulling in the D to the net and then finding a sliver to shoot at and putting it in.

Really no doubt at all who the leader of this club is. Sorry McD.

Really in 2025 or all season for that matter its been Drai and little else.

Drai pulled that goal out of thin air. Meanwhile McD finding more ways not to score, pass off on chances or stickhandle right out of scoring chances looking for a spot.

Cue McD scoring the winner I guess. heh

More like just Drai show. There’s a gap right now and McDavid while good compared to the rest of the team isn’t near Draisaitl’s level rn and is bad for his standard.

Yeah. Watching this game I see 80% of the forwards doing flat out nothing and f***ing sucking. A whole buncha Browns and Arvids out there. Both hopeless, again, in this game but with good company.

Also Nuge wouldn't be bad to show up for the season by March. You know.. what another casper the ghost performance by Nuge on this trip. He's more MIA than I was.

Not to mention getting schooled in his own zone. Drai is doing it all at both ends, and 97 is completely lost out there.
