He may have been brought back to soon with his concussion,he just didn't look right when he returned. I believe you've said the same about Carlo in the past. Concussions aren't anything to fool around with and if you come back to early, you basically could be f--cked for life, if you get another one, before you've completely healed form the previous one.

Yes I have said the same thing about Carlo. I'm one of a handful who don't shit on the guy for how poorly he's been playing. IMO he literally can't play better until his brain clears so why trash him???

Reality is, the team was a mess to start the year, and were never able to find their games collectively. Last night was just another one of those games.

Majority of the team played very well, unfortunately think goaltending was their downfall. Other times Swayman is playing well and he doesn't get the support. Swayman absolutely has to be more consistent though, getting paid to be a high end 60 game starter.

Personally, thought the Ducks game would be 50/50 and Leafs would be a regulation loss. Having your top 2 dman, who play 50 minutes a game, and generally separately, that's a lot of high end minutes missing on a game to game bases going forward. Having just Lindholm out was rough, with both out it's hard to expect many wins in the future. The backend is really their only strength and it had to be healthy.

What we saw last night was a gutsy effort with the talent being put out there, and they'll need to continue that if they want to win games.

Only thing great about the loss, is Marner continuing to up his price. This guy could have another mediocre playoffs, and he won't care, he'll ask for the moon based on his regular season and 4 nation achievements. Making the Leafs overpay or let him go for nothing.

Unfortunately, something similar happened with Swayman, but it involved the playoffs. The second Swayman won that series against the Leafs, we all knew he was getting paid. That playoff win made him officially the #1 and a playoff series winner. Great to win, but believe it came at a price, that sneaked itself right into the next season.

If you noticed they went with 4D the last few minutes trying to hold the lead.
Zadorov, Carlo, Wotherspoon and Peake.
Zadorov fumbled the dump in leading to the tying goal with seconds left.
With their top 2 D out, are you really surprised those 4 could not shut down the Leafs late push?
Would have been nice, but I'm not.
Zadorov makes a lot of bad decisions when under pressure - not a huge deal in the bottom pairing and his toughness can make up for it. When he is your top D playing against top lines you are going to give up a lot of quality chances.

I think it goes way beyond anyone trashing him, if he's still suffering from post concussion syndrome at this point, he shouldn't be playing. He s young and has a great future ahead of him off the ice.

I'm not sure if his play this year is a result of his past concussions, but it easily could be and the way he seems to constantly put himself in harms way could be as well. There's no way you or I really know, I just hope he and the Bruins are doing whats right for Carlo the person.

Carlo looked miserable last night. @GahdenRinkRat and I were wondering if he had the flu or was sick.

I like Zadorov in his role and what he brings. Its just too bad from his very first shift he fumbled the puck like he was wearing a cast. With top 2 D out they were looking for him to lead and have a big game, which didn't happen. What can you do.

We're 3 pts out of 10th overall pick, right? With the Habs having a game in hand. 10th or worse can jump to the #1 overall pick.

We're 5 pts out of 7th, with the Ducks having 2 games in hand.

If we sell and drop into 7th to 10th, admit the hilarious troll job of having between say 3.5% and 6% chance at first overall, and binking it. The entertainment value on this site would be AMAZING.

We can do it! I guess we don't have to be that greedy. The top 10 has what, 5 centers this year? Not bad! Quite a year for the OHL in this draft.

You could be right, I saw a pic of him on twitter and he looked totally out of it, or as if he was somewhere else.

Can't say enough how I appreciate you sharing your first hand knowledge, from being so close to their bench its great keep them coming even when you think, you should keep certain things to yourself. ;)

I'm not even kidding they need to tank so blatantly hard rest of season. They're 8 points away from picking in the top 5.. Lot of centers in mock drafts I've seen.

I want the elite prospect then come back on all cylinders next October.
Yeah, how are the centres looking in the 2nd round because even with a top-5 pick that’s where Sweeney’s reaching to anyway?

Some things need to be kept off this board. I am a major fan of this team and the guys who work behind the bench. I would not want them reading stuff from me that shouldn't be posted. It would be a betrayal. I know @GahdenRinkRat feels the same.

It isn't really first-hand knowledge it is just reporting what we see (and sometimes hear). We have a couple of posters here who are insiders...I am NOT.

I am glad you appreciate the posts. Some here so do not.

Did you see that sequence where he kind of dropped his stick, then slapped it up into his own face, almost like he was juggling it, along the boards?

He seemed to settle down after the 1st, but that opening period was some ugly business.

This is why I consider moving him and getting some half decent pieces. It's bad to say that, but if he has another concussion set back, I just don't want it to be with the Bruins as selfishly as that sounds. Obviously I would never hope for that, but the potential is there now more than ever.

The Leafs fans are circling like sharks today to let me know they won.

One even defaced my shrine and put a Leafs sticker on the cup

I've since removed it.

If you see it and hear it. Its first hand knowledge. :)

Its actually better than the so-called inside stuff because your's is factual on what your seeing or have seen. Insiders ? Maybe it happens but 99.99999999 percent its not happening, but still nice to hear either way. Im always ready for a good scoop. lol

Interesting take. I've watched a game or two of some guys at the top of the draft and have come away thinking they're really good players.

Where do you get your information on the draft? I've tried to find a few podcasts I like but have struck out.
Yea nobody can say anything with certainty like he said it.Lots of players slide down and end up being good. The best example I can give it Kaprisov who went in 5th round after being arguably one of USSR best players at same Jr's McAvoy was in.He did say centres but I am just using him as example anyways.

When he is not playing with an edge and being a menace he is below average.
And it was noticeably absent in a game where Toronto was running around. Surprising as he usually takes a roughing or noteworthy hit in this type of game.

Perhaps overthinking simplicity as the #1 defenseman currently.

As a fan of Z, I agree with this.

I think he's on his best behaviour because of our d situation right now. He probably doesn't want to take an unnecessary penalty and is super cautious. When we have a full squad and he's playing where he should be, I think he will go back to that guy.

True, but my point is there is a pecking order. With top 2 D out then that role then falls upon Carlo and Zadorov, like it or not. And neither one rose to the occasion last game. The thing is, I don't blame them, they should not be slotted in that role. But they are, so I don't expect many shutouts going forward.

Agree- as someone else pointed out, he is our defacto #1D right now. That has to change things for the guy, and it's not a bad thing that he can adapt when needed.

Yeah I mean he might be wrong, he may be right.. No one has any idea. But to spare a 9000 character essay about draft picks turning into players.. the trend is the higher the draft pick, the more likely the player is to turn into a good NHL player. There's a metaphorical cliff after pick 14ish historically. He seems to speak with more knowledge than I do which is the reason for my question. Just trying to find out more :)

What I do know is I watched some of the centers in the top 10 and they look like great players. If you drop a legit top 6 C into this core of Pasta, McAvoy, Swayman, Hampus Lindholm.. That feels way different for trying to fill out the rest of the roster to start winning games again.

FWIW, I went to tankathon and did a lottery sim for the draft. Nailed the Bruins second try (for their current draft setting)
