Future Bruins Captain after Brad retires.
He would be my choice, but they do not ask me.

I hope Brad is still here for at least next season. He had a great game last night. You really see how much he does when you are at the game. I just noticed he got one of the 3 stars, so someone else noticed too.

That loss is on Swayman. The guys in front of him were doing their job and he just let Marner walk around him. I’m warming up to the idea of trading him.
If the players in front of him were doing their jobs, Marner wouldn't have had a breakaway. They had other breakaways and 2-on-1s that Swayman stopped.

It's like clockwork when it comes to Swayman:

-another sub .900 save % game
-another last minute goal
-another lost in OT

Time to send him to the minors, so he can work on finding his game.
Oh, and he can bring Beecher along for some company down in Providence.

He would be my choice, but they do not ask me.

I hope Brad plays with the Bruins until he's 40. Honestly, I could see in him in a Mark Recchi type role. (second line player, 15-20 goals a season, great leadership, etc...)

You are aware they are short their top 2 defensemen? Or does this not register?
The talk around here is frkn insane!
I hope you are aware that you need your multi-million goalie to at least make a couple of top notch saves like the Leafs goalie did. They were also missing D men and they did not sit around and pout.

You also need to know how to sign free agents that can contribute and live up to their so called reputation. We had like 13 mil we just through away for very little in return. All season has been the same as this team is a very marginal playoff team even with all players on board.

McAvoy a top defenseman ????

Let's face it they are not good and with the decisions that have been made lately with player signings we are in for a long stretch of mediocrity. Swayman should have been let move on if he would not accept a 2 yr, 5 mil per bridge contract. 8.25 mil per and look what we have long term.

Please stop, bud. You’re like a spider monkey you’re so all over the place.

Can you pick a lane or at least share your mushrooms with me so I can see what you’re seeing?
Cut him some slack. His team keeps on getting his hopes up, then crushing them. Hard not to be conflicted.

His regression this year has been one of the biggest reasons why they won't make the PO. Guy may not break 30 points after hitting 60 last year. I don't ever throw shade on his effort, but he is a poor top 9 guy now.

Played 20 minutes and continues to be a player that works his arse off

If you noticed they went with 4D the last few minutes trying to hold the lead.
Zadorov, Carlo, Wotherspoon and Peake.
Zadorov fumbled the dump in leading to the tying goal with seconds left.
With their top 2 D out, are you really surprised those 4 could not shut down the Leafs late push?
Would have been nice, but I'm not.

Yes we need scoring badly but dont wanna pay him 12 million aav.

I really, really, for the life of me don’t get how people think Poitras is a game changing talent? I’m not saying he’s bad, but I notice himself picking himself up off the ice more than him doing anything offensively.

Just don’t see it.. like at all.
Minten & Nick Robertson for Poitras?

It speaks volumes that Mike Sullivan didn't give Swayman any ice time in the game with Sweden. last week that meant nothing.

Let's be realistic - Don't you think Sullivan asked his son-in-law about Swayman????

Come on... it's getting ridiculous ...

Pastrnak and Swayman are the only reason that this team still has a chance to get into the playoffs. Swayman had a rought start to the season buts t's not on him that this teams shits the bed when it has a lead.

There isn’t. But after the whiff of Lindstrom the cap space is not great to take a gamble on someone that may dip in a laid back atmosphere. I think Bennett would be a better option. (I think he is available or I could be wrong)
Can't see Bennett being available in any normal trade, no way.

Maybe not game-changing, but I see a two-way 50-60pt center. I don't think we can expect much this season given his linemates and with how disconnected this team has been. He has been feeding guys like Brazeau a bunch, but they can't even receive a pass.
Point as gets crunched way to often.

It's not ALL on Sway but he is part of the team and owns some of it. If he had stopped just one of those goals...

The D has been an issue (IMO) all season which doesn't help the net minders.

I don't know. Maybe that's true. This league is very year to year though. Especially with goaltenders.

If they can hit on a 1C in the draft with a top pick, I feel like a lot of this roster falls into place.

I may be higher than most on Lysell and Merk too..
There isn't a #1C in this draft that at 18, will make that kind of impact next year.
If they get lucky and get best center in draft its going to take until at best 2026-27 before that center replaces last years Coyle impact (60pts).

That's the fairest way to look at Swayman last night. Bruins going to have to comeback next year hoping Swayman, Lindholm rebound and Pastrnak, McAvoy and Lindholm are 100% to start year.

It is nice to want players, but some here refuse to see that the player type you want isn't always anywhere to be found.

As I tried to tell some here Pasta was not 100% at the start of the season. He was nursing an injury. He is closer to 100% now and WOW!! Too bad the Bs don't have a supporting list of players to help out the team.

Can’t make decisions in the moment or you end up ruining your team like Montreal did in late 2000’s

Overall the season to me has been a failure but there are plenty of things I like from Pastrnak elevating his game to on ice leader & more complete

Morgan Geekie body language says it all and (again to me who spends way to much time watching, talking, and listening to all things Bruins) and will be resigned. He’s a stud across from Pastrnak. Anyone strongly disagree want to make some money send me a PM we can put some cash on this - I’ll spend my winnings on a clam plate at the Bosthouse

Zacha turning into a complete player

Lot of negatives that are brought up continuously so no need for me to be repetitious if I agree - and we have 7 months to discuss before next season

I’m not in Swayman dealing mindset

We went thru this with Pastrnak Oct- Dec and he was dealing with an ankle issue

They also choked like they normally do. Gotta break these guys up, they just fold. The team is all Pasta with a side of Geekie and Marchand. They are predictibly worse without their top 2 D but they weren't great with Mac or Lindy either

Lack of confidence is as crushing as confidence is a positive stimulus. Especially with a fragile team like the Bruins.

Pasta scores 30 seconds in and the B's are jacked. Dominate the Leafs for over 30 minutes. Then a shot bounces off Wotherspoon past Swayman for a fluke goal, Wahlstrom takes a bad penalty and they go to the locker room up 2 with a PK coming to start the third period. Confidence slips. Third period it's a different team.

Yup one of my long time home town buddies is in Pastas world was telling me what was going on and he was not healthy but healing was slow but he got better

He also loves playing with Geekie ~ they are close off the ice as their wives are and Zacha & Pasta needs no explanation

People here want to break up line - but the players don’t, I certainly don’t

Fantastic line

Hey @DKH . Nice to see you and @gorskic last night!

Pavel is so underrated as he does so many little things right.

Thankfully some here have no say

Here's the thing: No matter whether the players in front of Sway were doing their jobs, Stolarz outplayed him badly. He came up with huge save after huge save, including in OT. A goalie can't control what goes on in front of him but he should never settle for being outplayed by the guy at the other end. This has happened too many times this year. Swayman has not justified his contract this season.

I hope he has the integrity to work hard and sharpen his game during the offseason so he can redeem himself next year.

Why do they lack confidence?

They get paid millions

Spend a few dollars at the confidence store instead of having 5 cars

Btw- I sat in my buds center ice seats up over bench row 2 balcony looking down and I could feel it myself when went to 3-2

In between periods I was with a group of guys (all here at one time) and we were saying they can’t let that Whalstrom penalty kill them

It did

Sweeney is going to waste Pastrnak's career, isn't he?
Hopefully not

I think Sway wants to and will improve. He is still young.
