I don't blame Swayman for the loss, not for his efforts in the regulation 60 nor in the fact that he got deeked out of his boots by one of the best players in the league in OT. I thought he was overall ok and the worst lapses were elsewhere.
But that's the problem. He was just ok. Just as he's been maybe slightly above 'ok' since he picked up his performance from the doldrums post-Christmas. And for a guy on over $8m with lots of term, having been almost a holdout, that's not really good enough, it's a problem, and you're going to get heat for it.
I really don't see him being traded. The Bruins do that and they're essentially committing to a full rebuild. But he has to be better. He's talked big, but that's the easy part. As such can only really hope that he eventually backs it up.
