Annnnnnd that right there folks is a "fan" who is pissed off when they win because it nullifies their agenda. Not quite the guy who complained after they won the Cup becasue it meant Claude kept his job, but it's in the same area code.

Don't make any assumptions. I wanted the Bruins to win last night, I have zero agenda. 25 years rooting for this team kinda hard to shut it off.

I call a spade a spade. Forgive me if I'm not buying the Kool-aid that this team is actually good after these 3 wins. This is the most disgusting, heartless Bruins team since the Dave Lewis year. I'd love nothing more for that to change, but it's the truth, these 3 wins don't change that.

This team is frustrating. Is this teams true potential closer to these 3 straight they've put together, or is it closer to the team that lost 4 straight before that?

I keep getting glimmers of hope watching, but then they end up ******** the bed right after....let's hope this train keeps rolling.

Well 27 years to be exact.

I hope they prove me wrong too. But I haven't been this down on a Bruins team in years. The week they went 0-4 just killed my enthusiasm for this year's squad.

Unlike back in 2006-2007, I don't see much light at the end of the tunnel. I'm sorry that's just my honest opinion. I don't care how good their precious Corsi and Fenwick are. 2 1/2 years of disgusting heartless hockey and I'm just jaded at this point.

I wasn't able to watch as much hockey in the Dave Lewis year (limited amount of Bruins games on Canadian TV, too young to purchase centre ICE myself), so I can't comment on the comparison to that team.

However, this team is the most resilient team we have had in since the last time we reached the cup, hands down. Now heartless is quite off base I'd say. Last few years once they were down in a game, it was pretty much guaranteed a loss. No fight, blowing games constantly in the last minute of the game.

They are aren't as deep as teams in the last 5-7 years, which is the biggest difference IMO, but heartless....I disagree completely.

I'll assume all I like. Your agenda against Claude betrays your "fandom". You are disgusted by this team, and want them to lose because it will prove your agenda against Claude. Own it.

That was a really exciting game to watch ..
few of the things i saw that no one else is mentioning:

nash gets a lot of grief around here but im actually glad hes on spooner's line. that guy is the only one on that line that can keep the puck on his stick for any period of time in the offensive zone.. sure he cant do much with it, but i still feel hes an asset.

people blasting carlo when i dont know how many times he saved chara's blunders. (it was a lot) chara was especially bad with the puck on his stick last night. i just wish carlo would push his offensive game a little more. too many times he just whips the pucks off the boards to nobody.. but i guess that probably has a lot to do with his second half of the season troubles

i continue to appreciate schallers game.. really good in a fourth line role and i would have no qualms with him on the third

I've said multiple times on this board the past few weeks, I won't cry if Claude if fired, nor will I throw a party. I have issues with how he has handled this team the last 3 seasons. I respect him as a coach and understand how highly he is viewed by his peers. I'm firmly on the fence when it comes to Julien.

Me being disgusted by this year's squad is my honest assessment. Has nothing to do with any agenda but you can think whatever you want.

I might be the only guy who likes Nash on these boards. He always seems to have the puck on his stick, and he keeps it. Like you said, he's not doing a whole lot with it but I think he helps the team way more than he hurts it...and at under 1 mil, he's worth it. People rip into him here like he's making 3 mil and hurting our cap situation.

Ideally he stays on the 4th line, but he isn't lost on the 3rd.

IIRC both those teams had over 90 points not bad. Would have been great to get in the post season wasn't in the cards.

Calling Patrice Bergeron heartless, now that's disgusting.

And both collapsed on the final stretch to miss.

And who singled out Patrice Bergeron?

Anyways, this is a stupid debate. I'm very down on this year's team. I'm sorry but that's how I feel about this year's squad. Doesn't make me right or wrong, just my opinon.

You folks have a good day.

The lay off legs took a while to get going for both teams. Bruins made the necessary adjustments and were the better team from the second on. McQuade with another troubling night with costly plays/non plays a plenty. Will give him credit for using the wrister from the point versus the slapper in creating the deflection in front for a goal. Chara, outside of his beauty of a goal, struggled as well particularly with turn overs.

Brad has that hop move he uses to gain position with or without the puck. He will get caught in those types of plays again. As long as he keeps his hand/arms and feet out of the play he should be ok. Tripping or interference would be the right call as it is deserving of a penalty. Would not want him to take that move out of his game as it so effective for him in gaining open ice and creating time and space that he is so good at using to his advantage.

There was a noticeable effort to move away from being stationary on the PP. It is by far a more effective way to create higher percentage scoring chances versus recording a mere shot on goal. Hope that continues.

No time to relax. Off to the Captital hungry for points.

The forecheck for the last 2 periods was great last night. Actually got good, effective games from Beleskey and Backes too. Nice surprise.

A lot of hyperbole both ways. As usual people lose their minds when they get on a streak in either direction.

This is a pretty average team right now. I don't think they're completely heartless nor would I tab them as particularly "resiliant".

The annoying thing is how many clubs are on their heels points wise that have played 3 to 5 less games. Including a team that was last in conference 2 weeks ago, crushed them, fired their coach and turned around.

Backes had no points and was a minus 2. Beleskey had 1 point and was a 0.

this team was average when it broke camp and at times, albeit briefly, looked just a touch better than average, and during other stretches, looked downright awful.

I wish we could revive some of the threads prior to the drop of the puck on opening night. I swear that most here were on two sides:

1- This was a lottery team

2- This would be a team fighting for the last playoff spot or one of the last spots

So........puzzles me fans acting surprised, shocked, frustrated that #2 is where this team stands (well, in a playoff spot for now)

I`m more surprised that goal scoring, not defending, has been the issue with this team, for that, credit must go to the coaching staff/system, but there`s always room for questioning them too, not sure how Hayes was permitted to play as many games as he was, personally, I would have benched his arse a long time ago.

Didn`t like the PP at all up until the last month, thankfully it`s improved.

When this team is playing within the system, they can hang with even the top teams, likely won`t win the majority of those games, but they`ll stick around, problem is, far too often, even in games where they have been the better team, they forget about systems, they lose focus and you just can`t do that in this league

That first period last night was downright awful, they made a distinct adjustment after the 1st period, from the comfort of my couch, I noticed the issue wasn`t necessarily on the D end of things, it was the wingers releasing from the O zone too quickly, not falling deep enough down to the hash marks to give the D/C-man options

2nd period, not sure if anyone noticed, EVERY winger stopped releasing early, moved deeper into the D zone and gave their teammates a target which was why, IMO, they wound up getting offensive opportunities

Spot on, this team is exactly what most predicted. Probably good enough to make the playoffs in a lower seed, definitely average enough to miss but probably not by much.

A predictably middle of the road team.

McIntyre back up. Khudobin to Providence.

I wonder if Zane starts tonight? If so, man has he faced some tough opposition this year. Wild/Rangers/Canadiens/Predators/Penguins/Capitals(?)

I'll be honest, I only got to watch the last 10 minutes of the game, but you can still have a good game and be on the ice for goals for which you weren't at all responsible. I saw Beleskey make a couple of nice plays, and he was playing with more effort than he has recently. Can't say anything about Backes, except that +/- is probably not the best measure of a player's game.
