There was a ton of people on here that wanted the B's to sign E. Lindholm. I for one was skeptical. There were other possibilities for centers in the past like Sam Reinhart, and possibly Scheiffle that the B's could have taken a run at but didn't. Now some on here are talking about Petterson. He's another that's made of glass and disappears in the playoffs so no thank you.
As for the rest of the lineup, Add Coyle, Frederic, Koepke, Zacha to be trade bait. I think the defence is fine, i actually like the Zadorov addition. Trouble is they spend way too much time in their own end being outshot and forwards not checking.;
With Marchand, i'd ask him what he wants to do come trade deadline and leave it up to him. He's still their top tier forward at 35. The 63 will have it's jersey hanging from the rafters eventually.
But yeah Lindholm, what a mistake. Like someone said you don't even notice him out on the ice most nights.

I missed a lot of the game because our #$&#^% internet provider is screwing around and we have had iffy internet for over a week. I was so angry with them yesterday, maybe a blessing in disguise last night.

The Jets tomorrow? Yikes.......I believe they have already thrashed us this season and the D is so weak. I scratch my head as to why Korpi wasn't in net last night, unless I'm missing something. I didn't know Carlo was out either so.....I hope our internet can be fixed soon. I loathe using my phone, unlike most people.

Made sense.

Save your top goalie for the top teams.

Mimicking Florida requires the acquisition of a lot more talent. It's not the toughness of Florida they are missing, it's the upper tier 1C and scoring depth throughout the lineup.

And Florida is actually one of the smaller teams in the league.

Sway, Mac, Lohrei, Hampus, Pasta - my non-tradeables unless blown away. Yes, we have 1, one, uno . . legit core Top 6 forward. Pee You.

For sale or inquiry on the rest. EL can not possibly have become this ineffective this fast. Core and/or groin issue. Just has to be.

Coyle and Brad have moments, but their best days and effectiveness are just not there. Rather other options going forward.

Coaching? What does Leach do? It's almost February and every shift, it's 5 players scrambling to see who plays where, poor changes, there seems to be little structure, layers, methods, the system is hope our goalies stand on their heads and when they don't they're the problem.

There just appears to be something fundementally wrong in that locker room too.

Instead of who we should be looking to trade for, the conversation needs to turn to the Front Orifice.

Definitely. I do not trust the present management to handle a rebuild.

Clean house (except for Bob Essensa) and bring in outsiders with fresh perspective. IMO the team has come full circle back to the days of the old ex-Bruins network & they're as stagnant as they were 20 years ago.

That is why, I asked those who want a rebuild to take a look at Buffalo, Detroit, and some other rebuild projects. The Bruins to rebuild, might as well move Pasta, Swayman, McAvoy, because if a expedited rebuild they will be in their thirty's.
When you don't have a top line centre in this league you are cooked .

And send a message to every free agent in the league that Boston isn't a good place to sign a long term contract. Yes Lindholm has very much underwhelmed thus far but the entire team as a whole is underperfoming, not just #28.
If someone wants that contract you help him pack.

Lindholm was excellent early on. One of the lone positives I thought.
Had 5 pts in the first 3 games, then went pointless in the next 7. Puts him at .5 ppg for the first 10 games. Then had 4 pts in the next 10 after that... so 9 pts in first 20. Then 4 pts in the 10 games between 21-30. His best stretch was fin December in games 31-40 when he had 7 pts.

He's actually been pretty consistent that he gets around 4 or 5 pts in every 10 game stretch.

Pretty sure they beat San Jose not long ago.

Yeah they did, typo on my part. Point stands though- they look like ass against teams they actually ARE better than, and sometimes are able to rise to the occasion and look good against top teams. It is almost interesting to watch just to see which team you are going to get on a given night.

And I wanted to add in reponse to @MarchysNoseKnows that I am with him on the Sweeney silence. Do we really want him to be out there like Rutherford with diarrhea of the mouth? If he did do that, he be blasted by the same people that can't stand him.

4000, empty seats, and your opponent is filling the other seats, ..............do you still want a rebuild.

It's the only language the Jacobses understand. They didn't do a f***ing thing until the ST holders quit in droves & even the regular fans stopped showing up. They got the message loud and clear: fix the team or we spend our money elsewhere.

It's the length of the deal that sucks.

When was that?

Zadorov and Peeke got badly exposed in this one. They're not bad players, at all. They just have limitations, and when you put this much responsibility and TOI on them then the errors really start to pile up. Same goes for Lohrei defensively at this stage in his development when he's not getting enough shelter and support from his partner.

That's how it goes. The D has overall held up pretty well of late, all things considered. Losing Carlo as well just seemed to tip it over the edge. It doesn't help either that the Bruins' forwards are nowhere near as good defensively as the days when we had the likes of Bergy, Krejci and Foligno. Even DeBrusk learnt to be quite solid in the Bruins' end over time. Coyle seems to have regressed in that regard, Elias Lindholm is generally good in this if nothing else but struggling with form and fitness. So it all takes a toll.

No other solutions there but to get some troops back and hope it makes a significant difference. The forward group was always a big question mark for this season, the amount the D has also struggled has been far more surprising. Need to see how it looks with everyone available again, not to 'rescue' this season but to work out what exactly isn't working in there and how it might be fixed in the longer term.
Coyle is cooked and is now a decent to good 4th line player on a PO team.
That's a huge problem at 5.25M. Massive regression and he isn't coming back.
